Musicians, do you think opiates help you play music better? Last week at jazz band practice (I play bass) I happened to take 15 mg of hydrocodone about an hour before playing, so by the time the music started I was feeling very relaxed and very confident. My motor skills were fine and because of the added confidence, I played very well and did some experimenting as well. It seems opiates are better for creating music than weed at this point in time because weed can make my fingers uncoordinated and so I get stuck in one position frequently.
i know exactly what you mean. i play guitar and write music and i find creativity comes a lot easier on opiates. 20 mg. of OC is all I need. when I play in front of a large crowd I always need an opiate for the confidence boost and it doesnt affect my motor skills like you said. when I drink or take a benzo i just get sloppy ha
all my friends that play instruments and make music absolutley LOVE being faded on some Oxycodone while they play music.. They say it makes them just like playing that much more and more creative. . . whatever.
I play bass as well (and guitar and piano). I think all drugs help with music. I took some hydrocodeine and jammed with a couple of friends and I remember the music was incredible!!!! It was so relaxed and the music and energy just seemed to flow from my ears through my fingers. Opiates are great, but not if you play fast music like we sometimes do.
Im pretty much useless when it comes to playing high. I lose my fine motor skills, and all music sounds cool, even though it isnt.
I really have no idea if it helps or not. I know one thing it does something just go look at the list of great Blues and Jazz musicians who were Herion addcits its unreal ! Look at all the great Rock singers who have used Herion and Opiates.Its buy far the drug of choice for most musicians.BUt On the dark side its had a big hand in braking up alot of great bands becasue of addiction and killing tons of great musicians over the years, So its a double sided blade !!!!!!
opiates help singing incredible. you get so much confidence and experiment like crazy, which is what makes a good singer great
yeah i feel you oon that, i dont know how to play any instruments so all i can do is just sing along with my favorite songs (Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, ect..) and when im on some Oxy ill sing and just love it, my friends say i should try and get active in music as a singer but i just dont think im that good, but i guess u sound different to other people then how u hear urself...?
Mmm... Just played a very satisfying show on 3 5/325 oxys... A little sloppy at first, but as the show progressed the groove got very solid and the fingers cooperated with what I was thinking better than usual, except for on of my big solos where I kind of ran out of ideas so it was aimless sounding.
mmmm.... 5 co-dyramol gets me more creative. weed aint that good and Psychedelics just make you encapable until a couple of days later
i disagree. playing on acid is incredible. though acoustic guitar plus singing after shooting some heroin is always incredible. i always write more when im on heroin, which sucks cuz i should probably stay away from heroin
play the drums! I have been playing for ten years and while I got 40mg oc in me I sweat more but i feel like chad sexton. well not really but close
