Operation: "Hippie Penguin"

When the word "Antarctica" pops up what comes to mind? Cold, Penguins, NO.... The first thing that comes to my mind is oppurtunity! Think about it, the whole world's land is taken over by "countries" all of it! Except Antactica!!! Now sure it's a little chilly down there but I have a revelation! I can see it now, Hippies of all colour, race, sexuality, differences etc... all united on this one contenent, starting our own country that has morals and is governed by those who actually know what to do with the world. Maybe we could introduce (very carefully!) some new species of plants that might survive as well as animals (longshot) is anybody else getting anything from this? or am I just a crazy hippie revelotionary? Discuss!

 

What about the people that are there already? What if they don't want your new government? What about the land and it's inhabitants? What will happen when thousands of hippies migrate there? You are better off to combine your funds and buy an island off of ebay.

 

the only people there (I heard) was scientists who stay there temporarally for research purposes, I never said we would kick them out. We could both share it, it's not like we are taking over the who island merely a small incriment, and I wasn't really referring to a government per say but merely an organized perminant camping trip, with thick ass tents, and fire and such.

ok has anyone thought about how antarctica is virtually uninhabitable and introduce new plants???? THEY WUDNT GROW note how there are no plants in antarctica.

true, unless we make some kinda of crazy arctic hybrid plant that grows delicios fruit as well as a marijana(sp) substitute. but that whole island ebay idea wasn't bad.

Introduction of new/plants and species is BAD. It puts the ecosystem off-balance and make the original inhabitants have to work harder to complete. Not nice.

dont winds reach insane speeds as well, you got to rember that alot of Antarticca is pretty flat and has nothing to break the wind. And staring at all that white would be blinding

 

well you are a flying penguin......idea! maybe you could breed with some of the penguins, and create an all new breed of flying penguin-beings! wouldnt that be cool.....

 

i think we should not invade all of mother earth, leave some of it without humans crawling all over it
