No one said anything it was just ok, I don't remember any funny moments and if people were in the room they didn't watch they just did what ever they were doing and then left, I did masturbate when my parents were there and I did see my parents masturbate once or twice when I went into my parents bedroom but other than that nothing odd about it that is how it was.

I was raised by a couple of sex-positive nudists (my aunt and uncle), and our family was generally nude at home. We were taught not to be ashamed of our bodies and that it was OK to explore what made us feel good, which led to a lot of open masturbation. We knew to be careful about where we made a mess, but that was about the only rule. Pretty much everyone saw everyone else masturbating at some point.

 

I’ve seen a lot of threads like this on Quora before I cut ties with most forum sites. I always feel weird about it. My family is fairly conservative, and so am I. I respect the idea of nudism, and I understand that it’s my natural state. But to me, the idea of being nude in front of my parents (or vice versa) let alone masturbating, is very strange. I wouldn’t feel right about it. I also think it opens up opportunities for abuse, intentionally or not. I’m sure some people are very healthy and well adjusted after a childhood around nudism, but it just seems like a slippery slope to me.

I’ve always had complicated opinions on nudism. I think the idea that many people have in their heads is an idyllic society where beautiful young couples are cavorting about at peace with themselves and their bodies, and everybody is happy and naked, being themselves, etc. However, I think what would actually be much more common is creepy older men exposing themselves to young girls or even children. Not putting that on the good nudists out there, more power to you guys. But I hope everybody can see how bad things COULD go.

 

Seems to me a difference between knowing it happens and giving people space (say in their bedroom) to masturbate, and doing it in view of others.

 

Not for me. I was taught about the birds and the bees at 10 (even though I already knew what the deal was), but after that, there were no other discussions about puberty, hormones or sexual desire.

I figured out most things on my own at a delayed pace. I would have appreciated a little more guidance and assurance about sexuality.

 

My Mother forced my Dad to sit down with me to discuss this topic. He gave me a book from the Catholic Church and told me to read chapter 1 and we would discuss later. I never read it and he never came back to discuss it.

Don't you just hate how parents just expect you to figure things out and then get upset when teens get pregnant?

 

It seems like either you have had some bad experiences or just generally have some issues to work through. The reality is that there are creeps out here clothed or not. And as for creepy older men exposing themselves to younger girls, the reality is that from my experience the general population just gets more open to nudity the older they get. I on the other hand have been a nudist my whole life, but the general nudist population tends to be older, or should I say my age now. Mid 50s. So if I were around some young kids, then I would be that older guy exposing myself to younger kids....so what. I have been on both side of that equation, but being a nudist is so freeing, and the people are just so much more genuine. My brother and I were raised by a divorced father who never had girlfriends, and kept us away from women. He left playboy magazines on his bed and we read them after school.
