One small step for womyn and man..one giant leap of the barefoot kind

Okay...last year at school i went barefoot all the time...then suddenly i stopped...so today...i am going to do it after a long year...i am going to go barefoot and get back to my roots. leavin my shoes at home guys and goin to my business law class the way i was meant to go...wish me luck!

Thats cool,i have only had one bad comment and it was from some australian girl whispering about how i had no shoes on again.ha

 

did not get any bad comments...actually got some good ones...like "i could never do that, kudos to you." it was great. my loving husband is coming to school with me on thursday and we are going to go barefoot together.

I think if I didn't have the option to work barefoot, I probably wouldn't last long at such a job. Luckily I knew I wanted a casual work environment in my early twenties, and I happened to find myself in the creative arts so I am pretty fortunate. The flip flops come off the second I get in to the office.

You all inspired me to go to the mall barefoot this evening. I was only making a trip in to pick up some film I'd dropped off earlier, but it was still very refreshing to feel the cool tile of the mall under my bare feet. It's been quite a while since I was barefoot in public like that. I only noticed one person who saw that I was barefoot...but she and a friend were sitting outside, and the young lady who noticed me had slipped her own shoes off under the table where they sat so I think she probably didn't think anything of my own barefoot condition.

 

at my school i could go naked. haha it's called shimer college in waukegan illinois. very liberal school. supposedly known as the "marijuana mecca" of colleges. i love it!

 

there is another college like that in Florida called New College. My husband went there for a year. I visited a few times and heard lots of stories. I want to attend a liberal college but as money is difficult i will stick with community college. There is in Asheville I heard of a college where you can attend classes you just need to help out around campus. i am going to be going to classes barefoot again tomorrow. bring shoes for when i go into the cafeteria for food though...got told it was unsanitary. peace and love

Okay, if you are one who wishes to go to a "liberal college," you ought to prep yourself for it by freeing your mind from conventional thought, and questioning assumptions.

START with the idea that "it's unsanitary to go barefoot in a cafeteria"!

WHY?!

HOW on EARTH could your BARE FEET be less sanitary walking on the FLOOR, which NO ONE EATS OFF, than the SHOES of the other people around you?!?!

You need to bring this up to the mindless idiot who told you that your bare feet are unsanitary. You also should show up in flip-flops and challenge this stupid person to explain to you why, now that you have satisfied the shoe requirement, there is no sanitary issue present anymore. After all, we know how much the average flip-flop or sandal -- which always satisfies these brain-dead "shoe police" despite the obvious illogic of it -- fails to cover 95% of the feet.

I don't mean that you should be as confrontational and belligerent as I sound right now -- I just sound this way because the issue of people being so stupid AND trampling my rights gets me angry. Do it in a diplomatic way, but you need to assert yourself, and you sure do need to not knuckle under to people forcing you to be the way you don't want to be, when they don't have right on their side.
