I have already been talking about this next one here. Some of the basic ideas in our legal system go way back. Some would say to even the Magna Carta. Probable cause, attorney-client privilege, fourth amendment rights, double jeopardy, etc. And the result is that the guilty often go free. But I was reading some time back, that is how or system works. I found a clever legal maxim or quote then for that. And I discovered last year that is called Blackstone's ratio. Many people are angered by that and even demand change. But they wouldn't like that, no one would. The result of what they propose are totalitarian and fascist regimes, like Saudi Arabia, China and even Russia. And last I checked people aren't lining up to go to those places.
