Someone told me online they know of someone who lived a life of evil. But they found Jesus, and now they are forgiven. That's nice. But why would a lifetime of evil matter if you just recanted or were forgiven before you die (not speaking of this one case)?

Moral responsibility is necessary for protecting rights and individuals in society. And moral responsibility after the fact makes sure people know there are consequences for their actions. But why don't we just have as our main goal, especially the government and society, the general welfare. That we are all happy. And healthy and safe too.

    RELAITY CHECK:
You cannot have a 100% Moral and Benevolent Government in this world without sacrificing the health and wellbeing of the population to outside aggressors. That's just the way it is on this tiny marble floating in an endless void. Freedom ain't free and happiness is what you make.
