On-beat to off-beat riffs

    I like tracks which do this, e.g the opening bass line of this one:



    And Angus Young's lead here:



    The weird thing I find is that changing where the riff comes in on the beat completely changes your perception of the riff. And if you start listening after the beat has already switched the track sounds totally different.

    Any examples you can think of?

    AC/DC is the better example for me, I have unconsciously noticed this in music, will now make note of it more often. Thank you!
