U.S. just lost to Norway 2 x 0 is women's soccer. I was trying to research when Brazil's men's soccer plays and still haven't found that info. I'm excited. Brazilian pub here in Queens where they show the games will be teeming!
I LOVE gymnastics. All my cousins and sister were in gymnastics when they were little. I'd go and see their competitions and root for them. Second only to soccer.
6. she made team a while back. she's doing the splits now, finally, and back handsprings, running roundoffs to back handsprings. this shit's awesome. but her favorite is the bars.
i'm not. if we boycotted every fucked up country's olympic games, we'd never have olympic games again. fuck that.
I don't want China getting money or political attention. They made promises regarding human rights improvements to have the Olympics staged there. They didn't live up to them, and I have no reason to watch or participate in the frenzy. Fuck that. But I don't expect everyone to agree on this one.
Wait until she starts doing the more elaborate flicks. You'll be so proud. My cousins would literally bring tears to my eyes when they flicked.
that's cool, lode. anyway, i think kai's gym is having a big party viewing of the olympics gymnastics. they've got team posters and stuff. pretty cool. nadia's choreographer uses their gym quite a lot, so they're really into it.
it's so cool watching the boys practice, too. these little kids firing off like little rockets into the air. jeez.
kai's still really tiny. she's the most itty bitty one on the team. the coaches just love her, though. i went in the other day to pick her up, and these ladies are sitting there discussing her, saying "look at the tiny one in the pigtails! she's amazing." and she is. she always has a huge smile and an intense look of concentration when the coaches are talking to her. she's not very strong yet, though. but she's very young and the coaches are pushing her TOO hard, so as not to stunt her growth. but the strides she's making are so cool. the bigger girls cheer her on and take care of her, they call her cherry blossom now, since one of the coaches started that. it's so cute.
I like to separate my sports and my politics. Which means that I sure as hell will watch the Olympics. I'd watch the damn Olympics even if they were hosted by Iran.
