Just finished watching a little of the Opening Ceremonies. It occurred to me the Olympic torch resembles a very large joint. The Large Olympic flame (caldrun - whatever) also resembles a huge joint, or a roach clip on fire. Is it me or have I been hanging around Hipforums too much?
i watched them this afternoon i thought it was so beautiful, i liked how they did it. ....wish i could be there!
You know, usually the Olympics seem like a big deal whenever they happen. I don't know why, but this time it seems different. Like I knew they were coming up, but had no idea that the opening ceremony was even going on - I thought the Olympics weren't for another few weeks.
I'm the same way, Christmas sneaks up on me every year. Confessions of a last minute shopper. Seen the first part of the ceremonies being replayed tonight, they were very impressive. The opening ceremony I like the best was the Korean Olympics in 1988. They recreated an ancient sea battle in the stadium. Took what looked like several hundred to maybe thousands of extras to form the ships and move them around the arena during the engagement.

I was watching the opening ceremony last night. It all looked so spectacular. I especially liked Björk's performance. I really wish I could have gone to Athens and watch some of the games, especially swimming coz my cousin is competing.
