No, I am not just talking about the people here at the Hipfora. I see them often in real life too.

What makes them become so bitter and what would happen if humans would be able to live to 200?
I imagine it would be a very sour world.

You know, my job attracted a lot of old people, most of our regulars were over the age of 65. I noticed with the grumpier ones, they were just mostly very set in their ways and if you gave them the same service every single time, they'd be really sweet to you. The ones who never were nice I just figured had a crappy life and instead of being angry with them I just felt sorry for them. I had a lot of very very sweet older customers who I really liked, too.

But good god on Sunday, Sunday was when the worst of the worst came out. My theory was always that it was like a hose of evil. They'd clamp that shit off during church and then the minute they got out of church and swarmed us they'd let that clamp off and spew nastiness all over us. The church people in this town are just so very horrible.

ooh, a bunch of really grumpy 200yr olds? That does not sound pleasant.
I get a few unpleasant ones at work, but otherwise the old people are really nice. They're alright to talk to, and I used to shop for a guy because he was too old to use his hands. that was really sweet. Always shared a maple bar with his wife, who stayed at home.

Sometimes their anger is ridiculous though and I'm not sure what causes that

It's beautiful what church service does to people.

Many fast food places are purposely built next to churches for the post-service crowd. McD in its early years would fly aircraft over cities looking for churches and then build McDs next to them.

The Church of McD might be interesting. Instead of the old golden arch, they could have a towering yellow steeple. Church and fast food right in the same building. Many people worship fast food as much as religion anyway.

Building workout gyms next to churches could be useful also. All of the frustrations that build as a result of listening to the rhetoric at mass could be vented at the gym instead of on restaurant workers. Installing punching bags in the parking lots of churches is another idea.

    The remark of the judge:

"I don't know how the hell I'm going to decide this damn case, but it appears from the paperwork that we now have a whorehouse owner who staunchly believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that thinks it's all bullshit!"
