Totò.....he was a real count......one of my fave Italian actors along with Vittorio Gassman, de Sica, etc.
For male actors from yesteryear, it's a toss-up between William Powell, Fred Astaire, and Orson Welles. Female: I liked Lucille Ball because she was so ridiculously zany and funny in dingy sort of way; the situations she would involve herself in would always get out of control and snowball on her quickly - but the thing I liked about her is she'd hang in there to the end and give it her all and never give up. My absolute FAVORITE actress is Audrey Hepburn. She was incredible. My favorite actors from that time period is probably Gregory Peck or Cary Grant. I love them both; they were so talented! Katherine Hepbrun was pretty amazing too.
I have so many that's hard to just pick one. LOL... BUT, if I have to.. John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara
James Mason and Richard Burton for the males and Bette Davis and Doris Day for the females, loved some of those musicals
JAMES DEAN always and forever! handsome, cute, sexy, and hot all at the same time + an intellectual and a bisexual, doesn't get much hotter than that.
Mae West Heddy Lamar *** Jean Harlow Natalie Wood Bette Davis Audrey Hepburn Joan Crawford (always over the top!) W.C. Fields Jimmy Stewart James Mason Edward G. Robinson I'm sure I could name more...but drawing a blank. There was this one character actress from the 50s - with a high little girl voice...loved her delivery! JUDY HOLLIDAY!!! It came to us! ~whew~ That was driving me nuts. And if you wanna go REALLY old, Clara Bow was totally cool.
