Old Fotos of Young Ppl I am pushing 70 now and probably considered old by many. They see the wrinkles in my thinning skin, the grey hairs remaining on my balding head and the white beard (which seems to be appealing to some younger men at least). I have become my father - the Old Man. But, we all had our moment. We were all cute kids at one time. (Youth has its own beauty - and I often see cute kids whom I know are not going to be so physically appealing as adults but are still cute as a kid). Fotografy has given us a way to preserve those images of us at our most appealing. I have found some of my parents that belies the person that I have known as "old." This is my dad at a CCC Camp in the Great Depression. IDK why he would be walking on dirt in white socks and in his underwear outside. Oh wait - he was 17. That explains it. We also allow kids to do weird things and think it cute. This is my mom in a school foto. If you think she is just a little girl consider that she had me a year later. Here is my mom when I was about 8. I remember walking down the street with her in St. Louis about this time and some guy in a truck whistled at her. I asked if she knew the man and she said "no" but I recall she smiled. And me at 17. We were all cute kids at one time.
You seem to have aged pretty well. I hope I age as well as you do. I'm a little afraid I'll end up in a nursing home. I like to look back on old pictures and think of how little we are aware of our own aging.
Nice pictures, Shale. Your mom was a beauty. Sometimes I look at old people and I just wonder--what did they look like when young and how in the world did it happen that they look like they do now? Silly question--life just grinds to us to a husk of our former selves-- eventually.
Yeah, she was tho I may not have been aware of it - she was mom. But, one of my high school buds whom I still see occasionally confessed that he and all my buds at that time saw her as a MILF. (I don't think that term existed in the early '60s but it is a teen boy fantasy) She was only 33 when I was in HS.
My mom and dad my grandma and her two friends showing off their new duds after a shopping spree in the city when they were young adults.
I Note That Your Father After All That Time Still Has The Same Smile On His Face And A Wink In His Eye... Cheers Glen.
