What the hell do i do with my millions of old cd's that i listen to. Like, the kind that aren't pawnable, or even give-away-for-free-able. ie- scratched or broken ones, burned cd's, etc. I can't throw them away... it feels wrong. Help. they're taking over my house.
what I did in my old room is I put a whole bunch of nails in the wall in the shape of something cool, and then hang them with the shiny part facing you It was pretty cool wall art, or put holes in the tops string them for a cool room seperater or you could stick them in the micrwave and watch them spark away, don't worry it wont fuck up the microwave, it's cool to see though!
yeah! i was thinking of doing the wall thing, but i want to wait till i have my own place for that. I like the curtain/hangy idea thing, but again....i'd wanna wait for my own place to do that. maybe i should just save them till i move out, hehe
you should just save them, did you try the microwave thing, just one, it's cool! I'm easily amused, lol.
you can still do something productive once theyve been through the microwave infact, they look better all crackled
I guess, do you have old records that you don't want? if you put it in the oven with a bowl under it, it melts into the shape of a funky bowl and you got a cool chip bowl or something.
YAou can do the bowl thing with CD's too but its quite hard. Mobiles work well with them. I have loads too i use them as coasters for when i burn candles. I was thinking of including them in an art piece by snapping them up. When you heat them they get really cool cracks and bubbles in them too.
DISCO BALL... get one of them big foam balls and tacky glue and go at it!!!!!!!!! or you can link them together to make a CD beaded curatin thing!!
i would suggest breaking them up and using them to make mosaics. i LOVE mirrored mosaics, but i've never made one coz i've always been too worried about purpously breaking mirrors. i've always wanted to make a big sun design using mirrors and coloured glass and then put candles infront of it so that the light bounces off. peace and love stardust xxx
An art museum where I live let kids (and grown ups, but mostly kids) paint and collage cds, then they put them on the wall as a permanent exhibit. It is really cool. I had a friend once who stacked all the cds on a post, like a dowl rod attached to a small board and used 4 stacks as table legs. But that takes A LOT of cds.
You could make a really cool suit of armour out of them. Then at Halloween, you can stand out in the yard with a strobe light and scare people. It's fun.
LOL~! Thats hilarious!!!!! That's what im going to do with them. lol not really...im probably gonna try that mosaic thing. maybe try painting them cool colours and making something. Maybe it'll turn into something cool. Thanx everyone
