You need to really check your history there, Texas is the only state of the 50 that has the legal right to leave the union. It was quite an argument among the poeple of Texas to become a state. They actually did not desire it as they felt it offered them nothing so in the agreement for statehood they were left an out to leave the union if the people of Texas voted to do so.

Trust me with the amount of aid as in energy being supplied by Washington state that CA has yet to pay for and yet the federal goverment forced WA to continue to supply, CA would shut down. Do you realize the the power rates of the people of WA have increased over 200% over the last 8 years because the state of CA has not been paying for thier electric supplied by the dams in WA yet they still bill the residents of CA. So one could say the WA residents are paying the bill for CA. One jump alone was a 50% jump all at once another was 47% all at once. just to pay for the surplus energy that Washington made thru dams for its own people but the feds demanded be routed to California to keep them from blacking out.
