right so yesterday we took the shortcut at the back of our flat and walked past this run down shed thing that is at the bottom of the garden. anyway it's usually empty, but not this time, no. There's a man living there, he has a pile of blankets on the floor and he's using the windowsill as a shelf. so we were a little freaked to find a man in the shed but as we don't know who owns it, there wasn't a lot we can do(it's kind of part of an empty grassy lot that looks onto our house, it's right on the boundary line) anyway, my flatmate, who is known for giving food and so on to homeless people apparently came running in last at like 4am this morning get stuff to give to the Shed Man. He told our other flattie that the guy in the shed seemed really weird, but that he was going to give the guy some candles and then come right back. we haven't seen him or the shed guy since and there was just a report on the radio about the police looking for a man who might be hitchiking or sleeping in the streets around our city.... should i be worried?
oh there's a few, but they don't generally come and move into people's propety....plus most of them are of the more unshaven, unwashed, second hand clothes people, this guy was clean and tidy with nice clothes and bags of shopping from the supermarket...it's just kind of strange that someone who obviously has some money would be living in the grotty shed.
and the guy the police are looking for sounds similar - like someone that it would be unusual to see sleeping rough...
http://www.pittnews.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2002/02/18/3c7099a92d693 there was a homeless man in Pittsburgh known as Lobster Boy. He basically made a shack in the woods on a University Campus in the late 90's - one of the top universities in the US. Eventually he was removed from the property after about a year of residence - but it became folklore, so much so that a student at the university actually got permission to do an 'independent' study and be 'Lobster Boy' on campus. This is Homeless Life in its highest art form. I wouldn't worry about the man in the shack you see....
i'm only worrying because our flattie vanished off the face of the planet at 4am. we tried calling his phone and someone picked up then hung up, now it just goes straight to answerphone...
Let us know, ay? I could say something like "I'm sure he'll be alright" but I'm not sure. I know I don't know your flattie and I live on the other side of the world but I'm worried about him. Umm, good luck? Does that fit this situation?
I had a guy use my towels on the line and the pegs to make a little home for himself out the side of my place the other week...I don't have a problem with homless people but I do have a problem with having to do the washing twice!!! hope you hear from your flattie soon.
simple explanation,, homeless dood hadsome good doses,,flat mate traded food for a couple, homeless dood an flatmate went off trippin in the woods,,cell phone rang in the middle of a prolonged giggle fest,,flat mate laughing to hard to answer turned cell phone off,,,.. after freaky sex with homeless dood flat mate should sober up before dark tonight an be back at the flat.. no worrys....
lol, well he is ok-ish, if you count having no recollection of the last 12 hrs as ok, his last memory is collecting the candles, and then of waking up in some random place 12 hrs later....but yeah. oh and we did call the police, they basically told us to fuck off, that they had more important things to worry about than students playing silly buggers. what dicks.
