Ok, I gave "ludacris" a shot and I was right, it SUCKS SHIT!

The subject header says it all. They have this celebrated rap act on Saturday Night Live (which is the un-funniest show on television).

If ludacris would shut the fuck up about saying his own goddamned name so many times in his "song," maybe he could concentrate on having his lines actually rhyme and put together a cohesive meter. Right now it sounds like a lumbering, aimless rant, with no rhythm whatsoever.

Oh my god, what lame, useless shit!

So for those who said I shouldn't talk down about rap because I haven't listened to it -- that wasn't true in the first place, I had listened to it, but it SUCKS ASS AND ALWAYS HAS and watching ludacris just reinforced to me that I was right all along.

Ludacris is not a correct representation of all good rap. There is some really good underground shit out there.. try some stuff that's not so mainstream.

Well, representative or not, HE sucks, despite everyone saying he's soooo good; and since I really just loathe the genre in general, and find it to be without artistic merit (regardless of whether rappers have a "message" worth getting out or not), it's not as though I'd be likely to enjoy the "good underground shit out there" either. I think rap is a lame attempt at putting together music when you really have no a) singing talent or b) musical talent. When all you know how to do is puff up your chest and act tough and arrogant, and you can't manage a single actual rhyme, you rap to cover the fact that you're a talentless performer.

Oh, it's a racial thing?

I guess you mean that black people are born knowing good rap from bad, and white people are just characteristically clueless...

What an unprejudiced thing to say!

I'm sure tonight that Ludacris will lay on his huge bed with his fresh silk sheets that were ironed by his fulltime maid and his pillowcases filled with money and cry his eyes out because YOU don't like him

Once again, a post by missfontella that doesn't have shit to do with shit.

Do I give a fuck about him and his silk sheets and his pathetic nouveau-riche consumerism and ostentation? Nope.

Well, anyway, I have nothing more I wanted to add to this thread. Y'all accused me of judging rap without having heard it; well, now I've listened to some of it, and I thought it truly sucked shit. Now my opinion is an informed one, but it's the same one I had before.

Now y'all go and fight amongst yourselves about it, because I won't be back to this thread. See ya! :D
