OMG! I was just watching the news and there was a major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Fucking BP!!!
dont worry...they are taking care of it by setting the ocean on fire :smilielol5: what a bunch of geniuses...but I guess its better than that spill were they just treated it will chemicals to make it sink to the bottom:coffee: somebody should invent a tanker that vacuums up the oil and separates it from the water...they could just go to the spills and boom out everything and clean right there...why the hell hasnt someone invented that yet !!!!!!!!
It's horrible:/ http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100429/ap_on_bi_ge/us_louisiana_oil_rig_explosion The governor of Louisiana has even declared a state of emergency because of it.
I believe they do have that bbad, but these skimmers cant keep up cause the well head is wide open at 5000 ft spewing oil .. earth day its a joke..
This came out this morning. It's incredibly sad. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100430/ap_on_bi_ge/us_louisiana_oil_rig_explosion_300
Give this thing a few more weeks. You may change your opinion. It's just getting started. They could build more, better, and bigger skimmer rigs, but the oil companies aren't interested because they don't make a profit off them. It will never happen unless government regulations require them to build more oil recovery capacity. The only good news today is that the Obama administration is not going to allow the expansion of offshore drilling (as announced last month) until it has been determined exactly what caused this disaster and how it could have been prevented. Most countries require offshore oil wells to have emergency shut-off valves near the ocean floor. The USA is not one of those countries. That's the first thing that should change.
On the news they just announced that the oil slick has reached the Mississippi River delta. The shit has hit the fan.
Try zooming in on the Mississippi delta area in Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl) and look at all the tiny little lacy islands and inlets and bayous and canals. There are thousands of miles of man-made canals that were dug for oil well access. Pick any spot away from the river and go in close. It's going to take FOREVER to get the oil out of all those places! By then, most of the wildlife and vegetation will be dead. Then erosion will wash the soil away, and New Orleans will be closer to the open ocean than ever before. When another hurricane comes along, you know what will happen next. Has that town got a voodoo curse on it, or what?
According to Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the state’s fishing industry produces: •32.5 percent of U.S. oyster landings •37.7 percent of blue crab landings •38 percent of shrimp landings •76.5 percent of Menhaden landings ----------------------------------- This could end up worse than the Exxon Valdez oil spill, they're saying.
These guys again...? Halliburton May Be Culprit In Oil Rig Explosion Though the investigation into the explosion that sank the Deepwater Horizon site is still in its early stages, drilling experts agree that blame probably lies with flaws in the "cementing" process -- that is, plugging holes in the pipeline seal by pumping cement into it from the rig. Halliburton was in charge of cementing for Deepwater Horizon. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/30/halliburton-may-be-culpri_n_558481.html
Weather May Drive Spill Deeper Inland The National Weather Service predicted winds, high tides and waves through Sunday that could push oil deep into the inlets, ponds and lakes that line the boot of southeast Louisiana. Seas of 6 to 7 feet were pushing tides several feet above normal toward the coast. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=126410895 Not good!!
Americans dont want alternative energy, hemp- bio fuel, wind-solar.. ect.. Fuck em!!! omgz the kids will get that evil marijuana and smoke it.. I got an Idea. lets kill all the wildlife we can so our kids will never smoke that evil grass.. FuckEm!! fuck them dead miners too..!!!
