i'm reading a piece of text out loud in french. though i know my pronunciation is really crap it feels really cool reading something out loud in a language other than mine... isnt language fascinating?
not in my opinion... the slavic languages sound better to me than the french language... but yes...all language is fascinating
I have worked in France and been numerous times and I am afraid I just can't master the language. I can find my way around and know how to ask for things in shops but have never progressed beyond that. I really think you are best learning languages when you are young as the older you get the harder it becomes
oh yeah the younger you are the easier it is to pick up a language. its annoying because i would really like to learn to speak another language as fluent as i speak english (spanish is my first lang) but i dont seem to have the same energy for it, like my brain cant cope with the information and keep it there. if i were younger it would def be easier.
I spend alot of time in mexico but have no wish to learn it, not sure why. Maybe I just dont want to lower myself.
lower yourself? learning new languages would help you learn about other cultures first hand by talking to their native speakers...that could only make you wiser !
Language can be hard as hell sometimes, but it's fun. It's always great to meet someone who's learning or speaks a different language. One guy I know speaks a number of the romance languages and we tried to have a bilingual conversation. He spoke French and I Japanese. We got farther along than we thought we would. Language is fun.
oui oui, j'aime le français beaucoup mais il est tres difficile d'apprendre... mais ce m'enchante, c'est très sexy!
Once I'm in charge, first order of business, no French. If you already know it you can stay, but no speaking it in public. There should be four languages, English, Mandarin, Spanish, and Hindi. 80% of the world speak one of those, and the rest need to get with the fuckin' program.
If any of you have spent as much time in mexico as I have, as hard as it may to beleive this, an american in mexico will do much better if he doesnt know spanish. Ive seen that the ones who even know a little bit get fucked with more than ones like me who know none. I know a bit but never let on. Its hard to get shook down when you have the appearence of not understanding a thing they are saying.
i cant learn foreign languages, i tried with espanol and failed miserably all i can do is count in espanol and thats it i dont know how people do it born and raised on english, its like impossible ot learn anything else, or very much of it, too bad though. never tried german though, im mostly german by blood, and some irish and some native american i would think im capable of learning one of these damn languages, hmm,. good luck with yours.,
