    Not that it really matters, there was a lot of hatred for the government and with good reason.

    Mandela was the one that said we should forgive sins of the past, move on and not implement change with violence. That he might have had a lot of people around him at the time far less pragmatic doesnt mean anything, he knew that wasnt going to change overnight.

    The whole length of apartheid and resisting world wide sanctions was all pretty retarded. SA has been doing better the last decade, but that extended period did seriously hurt them economically. Morality aside they should and would have been a far wealthier country if it hadnt been for what was just a small greedy number of whiteys within the white population trying to hold on to power and money with no foresight

    That the country didnt erupt in to civil war is very surprising and really all did come down to one man
