I don't understand your statement. The only thing sensible I can make of it is another little comparison:

    Star wars sucks.
    Bush sucks.

    Hailtothekingbaby,

It's kind of like the statement I saw that read "Frodo has failed. Bush has the Ring." Obiwan failed by letting Anakin fall to the Dark Side and become Darth Vader. Vader donned the mask after he was burned in the lightsaber fight he had with Obi-wan. That's what I meant by "Obi-Wan has failed. Bush has the mask."

HailToTheKing is just some moron who thinks it's cool to bash Star Wars because he's 19 years old, and he's too cool for that sort of thing.

Ah, now I see... I've never seen the newest one yet so I guess that was lost on me because in the older episodes he already has this mask as far as I know, and we don't know how he got it either. I think.

    You've got it all wrong.

I'm just some moron who thinks it's cool to bash Star Wars because I'm 19 years old, and I'm too grim for that sort of thing.

Actually I enjoyed watching the oldest three, but the new ones miss all the feeling, it's become one big computer-animated instant-gratification special effects generator. I like movies that have more than that. Episodes 2 and 3 just feel too artificial and the storyline and acting has become too much a background for the effects, that's how I see it, anyway.

Haha, you posted a little too late dickweed :) He already put what he meant by it, and it had nothing to do with bashing star wars :D

If you think about it there are a few comparisons that can be made with the current political situation in the US. Star Wars is a good one. I like the line in Episode III when Padme says "so this is how it ends......with a roaring applause." One could also loosely think of the Nazi regime. Lord of the Rings kinda fits too. But the one that sticks out for me is 1984. "Iraq are our enemies. They have always been our enemies. To think otherwise is treason. But you won't think otherwise. Cause you love Big Brother Bush." Who, like in 1984, is just a face on a poster........

She actually said something to the effect of "So this is how liberty falls. . . my roaring applause" which actually supports what you're saying even more. I also found it interesting when Palpatine first introduce the new empire as ringing in an era of "freedom and security," or something similar to that. I know I heard security. Mr. Lucas craftily interjecting his political opinion into his movie? who knows.

yep, I believe those words were spoken. But I wouldn't give monkeyboy the honor of residing in vaders place. If it were the first movie, he'd be one of the guys getting choked by vader.

I don't know if it's Lucas's political opinion (he claims it isn't related to Bush) or just a recurring theme in human politics. Fear and actions in the name of liberty is the best way for evil to prevail. I think it's laughable when Bush refers to other groups as evil, or as hating freedom. Freedom is what THEY are fighting for. Freedom from you. It's comments like that that I don't know how anyone can take seriously. "Yeah they attack us cause they hate freedom," said with that idiot look his does. I hate seeing him. But people love him. I don't get it. Let's just hope people don't let the Emperor get away with this ultimate rule before it's too late. It's already begun. He's already started doing anything he wants, because it's a state of emergency. And he promised an end to the conflict long ago, yet it continues in the name of security.
