I don't believe i have come out as an apologist for fraud. I have merely drawn an analogy between breakfast cereal purity and the purity you seek, and pointed out that absolute purity in each case is not possible. Not every one who disagrees with you is evil.

Nonetheless, we do our best to regulate wisely so that the percentage is extremely low. What is necessary to that endeavor is knowledge of where things stand, which is harder to get when you muddy the waters with emotional appeals, scurrilous lies, and baseless conclusions.

As for Annenberg, I think anyone reading this can decide for themselves whether or not they are partisan, and your assertion that they are tainted by having been linked to Bill Ayers is preposterous. The article backs up half your point, by the way, which is that Obama's relationship to Acorn is more significant than the candidate implied at the final debate.

Your response is more flailing about, trying to change the subject, and smearing anyone - including the Annenberg foundation, founded by a former ambassador in the Reagan administration- who does not agree with you. You would rather talk about the birth certificate. And you want to use factcheck.org as the starting point. So decide. Are they trustworthy, or not?

 

Maybe if ACORN screened their employees, they would root out some that may be more likely to commit criminal activities, such as Voter Registration Fraud. How would you feel giving your personal information to a child rapist, convicted identity thief, drug addict, etc..?

We have discussed ACORN's involvement in Voter Registration Fraud, but I don't think we've touched on this topic much. That is, ACORN's involvement in the mortgage crisis, and what many call "Bank Affirmative Action."

I probably should have it seems republicans are more likely to go after young boys and underage children. But I was 18 and just looking to be politically active. The lawsuits and allegations will always be there, regardless of how well the fraud is fought. Political groups will capitalize off a few isolated incidents if that's all there is. It's politics and the shaping of public opinion. It's much the same as the Bush administration capitalizing off the isolated incident of 9/11 and doing a psychology job on the public to make people believe that terrorists were climbing the drain pipes of their homes. Or the Willie Horton TV commercial back in the 80s scaring the public into thinking convicts would be coming through people's windows if Dukakis was elected.

But today the fact is no one has committed voter fraud. But the republican party seeks to exempt eligible voters from the roles.

 

McCain should do a takeoff on the Willie Horton ad against Dukakis in the 80s. It can be alleged that Obama is giving weekend furloughs to prisoners so that they can volunteer for ACORN.

Well Piney most financial instutions are regulated either individually or through the market due to republican derregulation. It was supposed to be good for the market. Now no one knows what assets are combined in derrivatives or hedge funds. We aren't obliged to know. They have no regulations.Their assets are outside regulation.

It's pure paper, and they will be rewarded.

 

Looking at the numbers, McCain was hurt by it more than Obama for jumping on the youtube political bandwagon. McCain needs to come up with something better, and he has only two weeks remaining.

Is that your reason to turn your back and ignore something that is so blatant as what ACORN is doing? ACORN is a habitual offender. The fraud that organization has been commiting has been going on for the past decade, and they show no signs of trying to correct the problem.

 

McCain is not going to win. I would hope that after the election the investigations into ACORN as well as issues like voter purging continue. Maybe then the American public will put aside their partisan differences and demand that this corruption be cleansed. I doubt democrats will have the interest to care, but I would believe that the Republican machine already has the issues laid out to claim that this election was skewed by the fraud that occured (in the same way the Democrats did in 2000 and 2004). However, I have a feeling that when Obama takes office that ACORN will likely get a free pass.
