NYPD shoot dog while the owner has a seizure

This happened yesterday I guess. A homeless guy who is known to the area has an epileptic seizure and somebody called the cops. When they show up the cops start kicking the guy so the dog begins to protect his owner. So the cops shoot the dog. As a crowd forms they call for backup and it turns into a big scene... Meanwhile the dog is flopping around in the street and the homeless guy lays there untreated...

I had to stop that video 26 seconds in. I couldn't handle seeing that dog writhing around...

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck that shit.

It's a goddamn dog, it's doing what dogs do... shoot it, psssh... they're not even looking at the poor fucking guy either.

Sickening, horrifying, and everything else just absolutely repulsive and wrong.

 

I never did like cops. wtf thats stupid nothing about the sick guy..just shot the poor dog for doing what dogs doo. looks like the wrong ppl have guns..

 

It was hard, but I did watch it all the way through... 9+ minutes and not once did they look at the guy... There were at least 20 cop cars and more that that number of cops. Not one attended to the guy and towards the end they had one of those poles with a choke collar at the end around the injured dog's neck...

They did everything wrong, that could be done wrong, for this situation...

 

Cops are not trained to know anything about the sick. I've known cops to harass disabled people and people with speech impediments and call them drunks, stupid and try to arrest them. I've known cops that harassed me for breastfeeding and trying to call it child endangerment. I don't know what all they learn in their training, but they know little about public health and proper communication. This is just sad, I don't need to look at the video however to know the state of law enforcement is extremely inefficient, these things never surprise me.

 

This is at least the 4th case of "police shoot dog" that I have heard in recent weeks! I heard about this unfortunate incident this morning. Nothing these days surprises me! I believe that the dog is possibly not dead but have yet to find out if that is the truth. When did protect and serve be replaced by shoot first ask questions later?

 

i believe that all cops should have to be trained as Emt's before they can start their job.

Just watched the video and I'm making everyone who comes in watch it as well. Why are there no paramedics on the scene almost as quickly as the cops? It looks to me that they were so intent on "dealing with" onlookers that the victim was totally forgotten about! Fucking disgraceful! I will be doing my best to follow up on this to see if there are any repercussions. I know that I'm pissing in the wind but one can hope!

Cops are always happy when they get an opportunity to use their guns.

 

Fucking repulsive! The only reason the dog was attacking is because they were getting close to it's owner. So they shoot the dog and then walk away from the owner. If anyone hurt my dog for doing what she's supposed to do I would fuckin lose it

 

A fairly reliable source told me that "Star" was still alive yesterday and that's all he knows but he's on it.

But they should also be trained as fucking police. That cop was scared so shitless that he shot at a small fast moving target which was almost right in front of his partner. This is some really scary stuff man. You can't let people like this on the street.
