Okay, I'd like to get your thoughts on this.

Being a transsexual myself, I often wonder what issues might arise from being in a nudist colony/camp/commune, but mostly from those who are not transsexuals or transgendered.

Would want to have, or not have, a transsexual in your collective? Thoughts on what it was like for you, if you are trans and living in such a collective? I'd love to explore this topic.

Firstly I'm not trans, secondly what an interesting topic. I've got to admit in all my years as a nudist I don't think I've ever been aware of a transexual close by. Either they shy away or I'm just ingornant, who knows. But I'd love to know what it's like being a nudist and transgendered. I would assume it's a difficult scene to be part of?
I've no problem with transgendered people they have the right to exist like the rest of us; but are they on the nudist scene? I've no idea really, I assume some must be but I've yet to meet them.

I imagine it would be very hard for me to be a nudist, because I'm male from the waist up but female from the waist down. It's a little distraught when you're waiting for the funds for the surgeries.

I think if I was with other trans, it wouldn't bother me much, cause everyone would know EXACTLY how it feels to bare that sort of difference.

I would hope that people are sophisticated enough to deal with differences. However and sadly, nudists are represented by most parts of society and that means pond-life....er I mean people with preconceived bias.
We all suffer problems sometimes. I have in the past had abuse shouted at me mainly in metropolitan areas for looking 'hippie'. Store detectives follow me around department stores assuming I'm looking to steal. I'm a Traveller, and well that's a whole can of worms!
Life is rather short and happiness is a precious thing. If you want to try nudity in public maybe start with a private group or club who are aware of your difference on application. Public nude areas are a bit of a playground. Having a family I choose carefully nude beaches etc that I visit, some are riddled with pervy types and other idiots.

At Breaker Bay, in Wellington, there was a few years ago a trans-sexual nudist. This didn't create any issues and why should it. The situation there is fairly atomised anyway and those that are there tend to keep to themselves, that is to say there is no community as such. I tended when I was a regular to make an effort to socialise and spoke with her one day. This meeting was a bit unusual not because she had breasts and a cock but because she had an erection and was wanking. Anyway we chatted. She continued to busy herself. Far from being put off with me there the reverse was the case and she fully hardened up. She had a large penis and I expected her at any point to ejaculate. The situation was very erotic, for both of us, and the warm sun helped and bizarre. Here I was completely naked watching a trans-sexual wank herself and finding it fascinating. LOL. I was complemented on my sun tan and tanned cock. I did turn down the offer to assist, however and had to leave shortly after that. From time to time there were other trans-sexuals there, but more men who wore dresses and just after sex.

I saw only a couple. growing up in the 70s. Much more in recent years. I remember asking my mom very quietly about it and she said to ask once home. She simply explained it to me. It did not bother me or interest me much after that. These days it doesn't bother me so long as they are not being sexual. A few years ago, on a nude beach a very young boy asked a trans guy where his penis was. His response was "I was not born with one" The boy I guess did not notice the vagina it was shaved and no outer lips. No one cares especially these days go out and enjoy it!

Sounds kinda like nudists examine one another's bodies.

I always thought nudism was just about feeling free to be what you physically are without covering any of your physical self up.

Not being a nudist myself, I guess t's not surprising I misunderstand.

I know a few people who are transgender. But they are not nudists that I am aware of.. But I can give you my opinion on the subject. For me it would be a none issue. As a nudist I have seen , been with both males and females nudists. So what ever a transgender may have below the belt line would not be shocking . We have seen that part of the body before. How they identify would not be shocking for me or many of my friends. If one decides to visit a clothing optional event / resort I think that they would be welcomed with no issues.

That would rather depend upon whether or not you're an asshole.
    If the answer's a 'yes'; that's a deal-breaker for me.
If the answer's 'no'; you're perfectly welcome to come spread your blanket next to mine.

It has been many years since I have gone to one but still go to a nude beach. At the beach no one cares or would care so long as you are not being sexual. as a kid in the 70s there were far fewer than today. I was 10 the first time I saw a trans. I asked my mom she explained it. She was transitioning to a girl and was in her 20s. We ended up meeting and I started with a million very personal questions. Mom kept hushing me and she said no let him ask so I did. Mom rolled her eyes at some of them (like OMG I cant believe you asked THAT!) I think you will have adults that will want to see and kids like I was but all should be very welcoming.

I have only ever had one occasion to notice a trans on the beach. She had breasts and a cock. She seemed to be very comfortable as did everyone around her. There was no difference than anyone else on the beach that day. I would hope it was just the one time I noticed and there were far more that I have just never took notice of…

it is kinda the point of being at a nude beach to just be yourself no matter size shape or gender.
As a kid with a dick on the small side of the scale, I started going to nude beaches to get over my fear of being shamed and found no one seemed to really care. There has been times people take notice but life just goes on and no one has ever made me feel uncomfortable and I would hope the same for a transgender beach goer.

Make them feel free, and welcome to enjoy the day with the rest of us. Variety is what makes the world a beautiful place. Embrace what you were given and love thy neighbour.

I was raised nudist and was skin and bones yet when soft had a hidden penis (just the head seen) and I had long hair. A few people mistaken me for a girl. When I was like 5 or 6 I would pull out my penis to show them. If I got hard, I had a fairly good size. Puberty started early at 10 and changed my hidden penis to a grower. All my life I was never embarrassed and very proud of my penis. I was and am gay but not trans in the 70s long hair was common on boys. It would not bother me if a trans was at the beach a restroom or locker room. In fact I think we should have one bathroom with all stalls. Never understood the separation thing other than invalid fears!

I agree I don't think gender of any type matters if you want to be a nudist every body is different and I think nudity should be a celebration of our bodies, personally the one real turn off for me is bigotry. I grew up in a nude and sexually open house, I have friends of all types and that's all that matters is we all love nudism and enjoy our bodies

I’m definitely not trans and I would totally encourage you to get naked and let yourself relax!

I would think that being comfortable naked around others would do wonders for your self confidence and esteem!
