not new to growing and making stuff but

hi i am not new to growing mind trips an dnot new to making them..... i have grown mushrooms once and found it fun and rewarding..... what is the best site to order spores mine was in 2005 and it is no longer online...... another thing is where can i find a good lesson on making spores for recultivation.... i know im being lazy on the second part but i figure anyone who knows a good spores vendor would also know how to take spore samples for regrowing

Use LC from mycelium slurry or a clone.

Multispore is the biggest crapshoot, and its a lazy way to do it. You'll come out with a grab bag of potent to bunk mushrooms. Clone your most potent specimen.

 

I'm curious.. how should we know which specimen would be the most potent aside from eating them?

I hear of people cloning by size/shape of mushroom that they like, and I can see the allure to cloning the most potent, but as stated, is there any way to figure out which mushroom is the most potent without eating it?

(I'm guessing GC/MS tests can be run on various samples, but assuming not everyone has access to GC/MS)

Size and shape may indicate better potency. Since smaller mushrooms are usually more potent you could just clone several small fruits and then fruit those out to see which one you prefer. Some people clone the first one that pops up for speed of fruiting as a desired trait.
It helps to clone a specimen from a later flush. The fruits from the later flushes are fewer and far between but they are also more potent IME.

Mycotopia is also pretty neat...kind of a different personality that shroomery, but a lot of info and people to help.

 

ralphs is ok, i believe you must register and set up orders with them, rather than buying direct..

LC stands for Liquid Culture.. Its takes no more skill that normal shroom cultivation , youre just going to colonize a liquid and then use this colonized liquid for your substrate.. Once mastered you will never need to buy a spore for the rest of your life..
