1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

I'm always really nice to everybody. If I have something you ask for, I will more than likely give it to you. Now, over 2 months ago, my "friend" David took my army jacket and won't give it back. I've been asking and telling him that I want it back. I'm not intimidating and so he won't. Whenever I say something, he doesn't pay attention to me. I don't know what to do because it is so special to me. Can you help me?

no worries my dear, i know exactly how you feel. I can never say no to anyone and I will do anything to help. and so I overwhelm myself trying to do favors for everyone and I get anxiety attacks and stuff. So actually, just recently I had to just STOP doing stuff for people. I said NOPE i wont take any extra hours at work, and I wont play congas in any more bands. I have a "social anxiety disorder" i guess. but if theres such thing or not, i have a problem saying no and sticking up for myself. SEEE were just alike :)

So, this friend of yours, you most likely see him on occasion, you know since hes your friend. and i would assume you might go to his house sometimes? i mean, wherever he has it, next time you're there, demand it back. if he says no, just take it! you care about it and its yours. or maybe buy him one for christmas i dont know, then he wont need yours?? or demand the money for it or something. STAND UP FOR YOURSELF!!! good luck

I would start saving up for a new jacket. And I would say goodbye to your "friend", coz friends are supposed to respect one another and their property. Just my 2 cents.

the next time david's around, repeat this out loud:

"hey david! hey! yeah, you! i've had enough of this bullshit, and i want my jacket back, pronto. so, i'm giving you one day to return it to me, otherwise, you will be giving me $(insert jacket cost here) to purchase a brand new one. thank you."

i really can't see how someone can ignore you unless you let them.

so, hope it works out.. if you can't do it, then i'll have to agree with purplesage in that you should start saving up for a new one on your own.
