I take it that you already tried removing the progs by deinstalling them for further removal you could try using crap cleaner to remove the rest of the instalation with the registry cleaner option of crapcleaner it also has a uninstaller option Code: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ hope it helps....
Symantec have a special program to help remove all registry traces of a Norton product, something that they developed (I think) to help with problems people have had when they install a newer product without properly uninstalling an older one. I have to say, the personal-home user editions of a lot of Symantec stuff are disasters, but I have found Corporate Edition of AV great on our school network. Your best bet is to go to http://www.symantec.com/search/ and search for "uninstall" instructions for your version of the Norton AntiVirus or Internet Security program you have. If the Add-Remove programs process does not work, there will be detailed instructions on the Symantec website to help. The "noNAVCE" program I have is just for the Corporate edition I use on the DET school network.
