its quite awesome, first time i've ever seen them, thats why i aint sure.... but thats how it looks in all the books about it, so i figured it must be, earlier the sky was a deep purple and green, thought i was trippin out, wish i had a camera that would take pictures of it :(

holy shit!! that was fucking intense!! i jsut went outside to smoke a joint, and i've seen the northern lights many times, but THAT was 1000 times more than anything i had ever experienced. the entire sky was light up in a psychedelic swirl of colours, only a small portion of the south lookinbg very low on the horizon wasn't covered in them.
i took my camerea up to take pictures of the crescent moon, and i noticed an odd greeen light and the longer i stayed, the brighter it got. then it started dancing around the sky, and bright white glimemrs started to appear. it got until a point where it looked as if god just figured out his watch reflective and shinning earth for fun, like he was in grade 3...of course since the northern lights are caused from solar flares bouncing of the polar ice caps, we prolly got a pretty decent amount of radiation today, but it was well worth it. then at the end, i saw a shooting star, which just culminated the whole thing. i could only get pics of the moon though :(...my cams just not equiped to take night photography. the only thing visible in the sky on my cam was the moon, not even any of the planets or stars :(
oh well....it was still fucking awesome, and i live in the suburbs, it must have been so intense for anyone living further north away from the big lights.

ooOOOOooo the article mentioned a solar explosion, i hope the sun didnt blow up, because then we'll all get very pasty white, and i'd imagine the winter would be a cool one.
