Hey guys, I have decided to grow some plants of my own. My dad taught me how to sprout the seeds, and told me the best time to start growing is February. However, he does not know much else. We tried to sprout 20 seeds the second week of February, 10 actually sprouted. We planted them all and only two have actually started growing. They are about 2 inches tall. I have done some reading on indoor growing. I've found that you should have 16-20 hours of light per day for vegetative growth, and then 12 hours on/off for the flowering stage. What about growing outdoors? I live in Southeast United States and there is about 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night here right now. How long will it take for the vegetative and flowering stage outdoors? Could somebody please help me with the basics of growing outdoors? Is it as simple as watering them every day and keeping them in the sun? Or is it much more complex? Thanks, ~metalguitarist420 :guitarist:
you should monitor the areas you wish to grow in the fall, Buds grow in the FALLING SUN , not in the springs. While you can force bud and some auto flowers may do well where you live. Its only going to matter with the FALLING sun that buds the plants. They can have all the sun in the summer but if the sunlight pulls away from it in the fall. you will have shabby buds.. slashing down things around your plants is also noticeable by trained eyes, find spots you dont need to do this.. plants outdoors dont need full sun all day, grow on a south facing hill that gets most sun, Cannabis plants in locations like this tend to be found rather quickly by intruders. So its best to find a nice place they will get good sun from time to time , but will be seen less by passerby's... Since the sun is stronger then any indoor lamp.. a location could have 8hrs of direct light and be enough for decent budding. Ideally you want the best locations for plants. But dont draw to much attention to large crops that can be spotted easy.. monitor traffic of locations in the fall as well,, I dont know what happens to your other vegetation where you live?.... but Cannabis can stick out like no other plants in the fall, and your foot traffic is seen by others that travel the woods.
