noob Bong Question

I've hit abong a few times in my few months smoking, but I have a question. How high up does the water go? I just got one and want to break it in tonight. Just a simple yes or no will suffice.

Does the water level stay below the tip of the female peice?

 

the tip needs to be in the water for it to bubble and cool off the smoke. nt to much though, you dont wanna fill it all the way. about a quarter of the piece in the water will suffice.

 

make sure the bowl of the slide is above the water. have it about 1-2 inches below the bowl

 

make sure the water doesnt go over the choke hold, or else you'll be leaking water.

 

so cover the female peice but not the male. makes sense
