There used to be several floral stores selling poppy pods on ebay. However, they have all gone missing. Even if I type in "poppy pods" in the search, it yields nothing. Anyone know what happend? Has there been a change in laws or is ebay just banning them from sale on the site?
I was wondering when a thread like this would be started. According to a thread on bluelight (I think) there was a film in a film festival in Colorado that was about the directer and how he was addicted to poppy pods he got off of ebay for his whole life. There was some high ranking DEA official there and it really hit home with him, so he made it his mission to limit the sale of poppies online. So yeah, ebay doesn't sell poppies anymore and I have even heard that paypal cannot be used to buy poppies anymore even if they are from a vender website. This sucks, I was literally a week away from finally tryin some out... O and it has always been illegal to sell poppy pods, but most of the time LE has bigger things to worry about then a florist selling poppies in arrangements. Here is sauce: http://www.poppiesthemovie.com/ <movie http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?p=7382242 <original thread
Yup they seem to have gone off UK ebay too...that musta happened within the past month or so. online florists may still sell em tho
Wow. Thats just shity. Now I only have oxy and other strong painkillers to turn to. Pods were probably the safest form of opiate to get high off of. I never heard of some one getting addicted to them(until now). Does anyone know where I can find the laws about pod sales? Is this a state to state thing, or is it effective for the whole country?
They have shut down any sales of poppy pods on ebay, even one of the suppliers was arrested. Some of the suppliers will still sell you pods if you have their email from what ive heard. If you need them id just search google, there are quite a few people that have websites that sell them at good prices.
I've found a few UK websites. A lot of em only ship to the UK but some ship worldwide. I won't mention them here, but they are out there...
Hell thats ok. the web is full of places to get pods. Its not the end of the world just because e-bay dosen't sell them anymore. HA Hit the search button and choose between the thousands of places to get them. Not that hard to do man.
the laws haven't changed, they've just started to be enforced more to the letter of the law as well as the spirit of the law. opium poppies produce and contain scheduled drugs, such as codeine and morphine. not only are these drugs illegal, poppy straw (stems and pods) and poppy straw concentrate are both schedule II, along with opium, opium extract, etc. they have been so for some time if i'm not mistaken, and people HAVE been busted for possession of poppies before the internet helped make poppy tea more popular. the law is loosely enforced. the opium poppy is the only poppy whose seeds are used in food, and poppy farming for this reason is accepted as legitimate. despite the seed pods themselves being a schedule II substance, the farmers growing for the seeds (intended to be used in a culinary manner) are virtually never harassed for their profession, and do not suffer arrests for possession or manufacture of controlled substances unless there is reason to believe they are using them for the purpose of making narcotics. further, the opium poppy is widely accepted as legitimate to possess and grow as a traditional ornamental plant, and a little old lady down the street who happens to grow poppies next to her other flowers isn't going to get any flak for it. that said, from a strictly literal interpretation of the law these people are ALL criminals. the only people truly allowed to grow or possess poppies are those who have been given permission to do so by the authorities in order to produce opiate medications for the legitimate pharmaceutical market. its not that the law changed, its that a gray area of the law was exposed and the authorities are getting more enthusiastic in their efforts to persecute the drug users, those people who exploit the gray area so they can get high. opium addiction is ancient and people took opium for a long time before smoking was introduced to the old world. it was always taken orally. both codeine and morphine have potential for serious addiction regardless of the route of administration, it is simply that oral administration is less likely to result in serious addiction than injection, smoking, or insufflation. people get addicted to opiate and opioid pills all the time, even when just swallowing them, so why should the morphine in poppy tea be any different? people can and do get addicted to poppy tea, it has been illegal for years, and people have in fact even overdosed on it. ebay has an official stance of not allowing the sale of drugs on it's website, but they aren't always the best at keeping up with these gray areas and making sure people aren't exploiting them via their website. when they are made aware of such things, they disallow the sale of the items. there are still plenty of websites where you can purchase you pods, as well as brick and mortar shops. further, if you live in an appropriate climate you can grow your own pods outdoors, and anywhere in the world you can grow them indoors without creating the same suspicious odors as cannabis. if you opt for indoor growing, be prepared for rather small harvests in general, though.
I am thinking that this is the first step the dea is taking to halt poppy floral production. Any substance can be addictive when you look at it. Its mostly the level of potential addiction that causes it to be illegal. Hell, they need to make fatty foods illegal.
