/\/\/\ Have you seen Darker than Black. From what you posted I think it's something that you'd enjoy.

Anime its self is not a bad thing, it does encompass a tremendous amount of art, which I can appreciate. My problem with the whole thing is like “Country” music and “POP”. It becomes all the same. I can throw myself into things that do not present them selves the same every time. When you hear a country song, you know it is country by the type of instruments that are being used and the pitch and sound of the singer. You don’t need to see a video to know that you are listening to country. The same goes with cartoons, lets just say it, they are cartoons. All Anime has the same look and feel as every other Anime show. The origins of something should not dictate its progress. Anime has changed but it is still using the same old techniques to make it feel like it did when it first hit the market big time. You are getting mass produced buy my products under new labeling Anime. Just my thoughts, if you love it rock on and enjoy it because the market is dictating mass releases of it

Yeah Afro Samurai was pretty awesome. Spirited Away was absolutely fantastic, did you catch Christian Bale's magnificent voice acting in Howl's Moving Castle?

Also polecat you should check out the film Paprika. It was amazing.

well these days everything is recycled its very hard to by completely original almost impossible, but i don't see it as a bad thing as long if its based on a good idea to begin with and as far as originality goes animes are far more original than just another tv comedy show.
i just can't grasp the idie that somone dislikes anime everyone i know likes them exept thousde who don't understand english for them its boring coz they dont know whats going on i understand that.
watch princess mononoke its anime movie and tell me its crap !?!

I see your point, but the same holds true to almost all the media being put out for sale. I can understand if you abstain from all commercialized media, but (as SirBallot said above) most American produced series are far less original than most animes.

Did you see the movie or the show? I've watched the first season and liked it, but I never saw more than that.

Did you see the English version or the Jap Version. I have yet to see the English one, but I was basically the second person to download the jap with subtitles version off demonoid. I had waited for it to come out after somehow catching a preview of it on the apple trailers site.

I saw the japanese. I didn't know they were making an english version, but it doesn't surprise me. I usually go for subbed over dubbed just in general because english voice actors can be pretty terrible at times.

Sometimes, though if you saw Howl's Moving Castle you wouldn't think so. Christian Bale is just awesome at everything :)

I actually did watch that in English and it was very good. Same with Mononoke hime and Sprited Away. All of Miyazaki's stuff has top notch voices.
