I cannot stand Anime. I don't know why. Last night my whole goal was to get so stoned I would enjoy Japanamation, and I couldn't even do it.

 

Yeah, I'm with you! The only anime I liked (although I LOVED this show) was Dragonball Z, and I don't even think that counts as anime, at least that's what this one kid told me.

 

DBZ sucks major cock sorry. I actually love anime, especially anything from Hayao Miyazaki. Anime is good if you watch certain things and bypass other mondo shitty ones.

It really depends on what you watch. A lot.

I personally like anime because it basically is another medium for telling stories. But you don't need a massive amount of funding like you would to make a movie, so there end up being a lot more creative and original shows that are made into animes as opposed to movies. Also, a 24 episode show can cover a lot more content than a 2 hour movie so there ends up being a lot more character development and plot development. It's between a book and a movie pretty much.

I have to agree Anime sucks ass. It is made out to be so in-depth and profound, but it just seems like long winded Japanamation with no real content. The stories are week and the characters are best left for comic porn. Not a fan...

What did all you kids watch? Because even my friend who swore he hated anime managed to get into shows like Deathnote or Darker than Black.

People who haven't watched any decent shows get the impression that anime is all kiddy drawings with little mouths and huge eyes, but that's only a small fraction of the genre. Take A Scanner Darkly for instance. This isn't considered anime because it didn't originate in Japan. But if it had it would be thrown into the same classification as shows like Pokemon and the like.

Sorry, I just find it hard to believe that people could so dislike something so unique as Spirited Away.

 

i think i saw a commercial for that on the ovation channel one time, and it did look pretty trippy, and i did want to watch it

however, i ended up forgetting when it came on and never did

i used to also be into Gundam Wing

that show was the shit, and, admittedly, i'd watch that whole series again, along with Endless Waltz

 

Just because there's a couple good anime shows doesn't mean that anime doesn't suck. It just means a couple shows aren't as bad as the others. I don't like much country but that doesn't mean there aren't some talented musicians.

But country is classified as such because the musical style is all similar to an extent. But there are thousands of different anime shows of all different types and the only reason they're classified as "anime" is because they're all animated, and from Japan. The problem I see with people saying they don't like anime is that they've had such a small exposure(usually junk like DBZ or Pokemon), but use it to judge the whole medium. It would be similar if someone from another country heard one or two questionable American music groups, and then said that all music from America sucks. Both are just too large of a medium to be written off so completely.

Granted, some people just don't like animation. My oldest brother can't watch any show that isn't live-action despite me and my other brother's best efforts.

if u hate gorey stuff stick with ghost in the shell and avoid the other one's.
after watching atleest few episodes of everyone of those animes and u still feel the same then its true u dislike animes
