I just want to FUCKING browse your MOTHERFUCKING sites exactly like my MOTHERFUCKING PC does. Is that too MOTHERFUCKING much to FUCKING ask every MOTHERFUCKING GOD DAMN website!? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FUCK MOBILE Browser DETECTION!!!!!!
Lol, it's only going to get worse. What, you still use a PC? Thats so like 2006 Smartphones are what all the cool kids are using, you silly rabbit!
I love my little mobile. I'm a (cool) kid at heart! But I use a browser app that has a "Browser ID" feature (several browser options to choose from) so that it browses like a PC. I detest mobile mode. (Are we allowed to post links here or is that considered an advertising no-no?)
It sucks. I know there are browser apps like dolphin that let me setup desktop mode but dolphin and others have major bugs on some sites, one bug is i can't sign in to HF with dolphin. My favorite browser on my Droid, Boat mini, does not seem to have this option. It's good that there are so many browsers for android, but none seem to be ideal, and can be very frustrating. So I end up having 4 browsers installed, each for different sites they work best on. It's kind of a cluster fuck!
I wasn't impressed with Dolphin or a few other browsers I've tried. I also had a slew of them until I found "iCab Mobile". It may be available only to Apple products, not sure if it's available for droid. It's a couple of bucks but well worth it. Lots of nifty features (tabs, filters, modules, action menus and contextual menus that you can change to your liking, gestures and tons of things I don't even know how to use). I use it on Hip and it works fine. You may know all this... You have to change the option in the Tools (last button on the bottom). Look for "Browser ID" about halfway down. It's set to Standard by default which is the dreaded mobile mode. I have mine set to "Firefox 17 Windows" but you can set it to IE, Opera, some others, and to either Windows or Mac. It's one of the best apps I've used. The developer gives good support and is open to suggestions too.
lol , now i know i,m getting old. i used/played with an I-phone for the first time the other day.you, all lost me never use phones. i just like my old laptop.
Step one: open your browser. Step two: type 'about:debug' in the address bar. Step three: while the window you typed that in is still open ptess the home button to open settings. You'll now see the hidden debug option. Click it. Step four: click the box that says useragent and select desktop. Step five: you've defeated mobile detection.
When some sites auto direct to mobile I find mostly that the mobile site offers 100000000% less than the PC site and it's bothersome when you can't get out of the mobile site.
