Well, come on, I know there's gotta be plenty of you out there - I wanna make this the happening thread for night owls with nothing better to do. WHO else?

Ever since I was a kid i've loved owls. I love listening to them hoot at night outside my window. They are really close but i can never pinpoint exactly which tree or spot they are in.

Yeah... except when it's a screech owl and you're not expecting it. Like, at 2 in the morning when you're trying to take a piss in the middle of the woods on a camping trip with no moon. That was the one time I've ever hated an owl, lol.

I like to open my window at night when it's warm enough - there's usually one or two out there. each species has its own distinct call. Have you ever figured out what kind hang out by your window?

 

The Barred Owl hunts alot around my house. Their cackling during the hunt is like nothing I've ever heard before.

 

I'm not exactly sure but I have a hunch its either north american barn owls or great horned owls.

 

its actually only 1030 and I'm in bed. I dont think I belong here

Owls are cool....

 

I like mature owls but the babies are kinda fugly. Maybe pending on species?
