"I have recently been overwhelmed with anti-semitic letters and pamphlets; my repugnance for this party (who would be only too pleased to avail itself of my name) is as pronounced as it could be)" -Nietzsche Nietzsche was very outspoken about his hatred of anti-Semitism and nationalism, he was most certainly not a Nazi.
I know, theres really no point to this poll. I just bought his book, reading into existentialism, but this books not really about that. Its about how to live a happy life, but not by certain paths. The Nazi propaganders (made up word) used some things he said in a different context, to their advantage (in lieing to the German people).
if neizhe was a nazi then ted kennedy is a republican, just because you share some ideas doesn't mean you are.......
no, I didn't read much by him but from what I did I never even considered the thought of him being a nazi (that may have sounded funny I am tired)
Eugenics are a viable idea, but going about them usually isn't, I suppose a opping in system could work, but otherwise, it's fucked.......
Damn, I don't know why I said that... They just abused Nietzsches words and used them to justify their ways He was the one who started the whole idea of the übermensch that led to the nazist understanding of the untermensch. Wich we all know what they did to... But he never intended it to be used in that way... Sorry about that, but it was like 4 am when I wrote that other shit This is just what I read
no he wasn't. his sister swayed a lot of his concepts into pro-nazi philosophies after his death. If you knew his bio, family, and philosophy you'd know. Nietzsche is genius.
Kewl, haven't really gotten that far yet... If you want to know stuff there are so many books to read I'm p.t. reading the iliad
I saw that on the shelf today, I was going to get it. I figured, there going to make me read it later anyway, and I had like 5 books in my hands.
thank you. his sister was a total bitch. it's a good thing walter kauffman corrected his philosophy. i just finished the birth of tragedy. gettin ready to read beyond good and evil. i love his work.
