I wasn't sure where to put this... but I am planning on going to Niagara Falls in May for a visit with my boyfriend. I was wondering if anybody has been there and if they recommend doing anything or staying somewhere specific... money is a bit of an issue, so cheap things are good hehe :) anyway, any recommendations would be awesome! i've never been, so I'm really looking forward to it.... :)

    thanks!

Niagra falls is fine for a day but the areas with cheaper hotels are sleazy...I dont mind a sleazy place sometimes but if your going for the " romance" of the falls make it a day trip and afterwords go over to the catskills or up to montreal...
The place is not all its cracked up to be unless you love casinos and the hard rock cafe....

i think i want to do the boat ride, it's like $10 to go behind the waterfall and you get a free poncho to wear and all that :D sounds awesome... lots of pictures i will be taking.. thank god water doesn't get all bad when you take pics of it like say, cave paintings.. lol

theres actually lots to do..for free...especially around may. things start to thaw out around that time hehe. check out devils hole. its a walkway leading down to the gorge's rapids. i've took the hike many times myself. let me tell you its quite an experience!! the falls is magical.. a place of spiritual cleansing.. it has a lot more to offer than gambling and overpriced food :)

I worked in the falls for about six months, it was absolutely the worst town I have ever worked in...soo many idiots..."where's the snow" "when do the falls close"...but the falls themselves are great...horrible place for a city though
