would anyone be interested in contributing in the organisation of an underground newspaper? im trying to get at least a loose network of people together before i begin working on it outright. anyway, its still in the planning stages. if you think you would like to help with this, please, by all means make yourself known. if not, thats okay, i still love you!
I can write and bitch better than anyone on these forums. And to anyone who doubt's that, I challenge thee to a written bitch-off! -Kate PS: I know a kid at my school who did this exact same thing. I can probably get you in contact with him if you want advice or ideas.
you already know that im in, capn. full speed ahead!! im gonna get barred from this country for the shit ill write about the govt in there....ooh sounds like fun
btw, alice d. millionare is one of my favorite grateful dead songs! do you know what the song was actually about???
as a matter of fact i do! it was about an article in a newspaper that claimed bear(owsley stanley) was an 'lsd millionaire', hence the title...alice d millionaire. at least thats what i read... all yous fresh young fellows that wanna help, drop me a line at truckin_05@yahoo.com. gimme a little background info, and all your ideas... hopefully, this scheme wont pop like a bubble!
lol! nice reference. well... i don't use email really, so i'll just tell you on here. background info, uhmmm i have never wroten for anything like a newspaper... but i've wroten for english class, and would have submitted something to this coffee house at my school if didnt have to read it aloud. as far as ideas, exactly what kind of newspaper are we goin for here? where will it be distributed, will it be free? writings, and short to the point articles about what is going in the world, and in our worlds sounds good. maybe some poems, essays, graphics( i can do that if ya want like i said earlier)
Ahhh.... an "underground" newspapar started by a 16 year old... yes... this is gonna work. And what exactly of the "underground" do you know? What are you gonna do... put your local % of increase in the price of weed and repeatedly proclaim that Bush sucks?
oh just wait n see man. if it fails then you can laugh in our faces like you want to because we are a bunch of uneducated teens accorfing the the rest of oppressive amerika. but if it works like we think it will, then haha dumbass you were wrong. We know alot more then just the bullshit they try to teach us in school. And were gonna let it known that we know about the shit that actually goes on. Just watch, man
well, we've gotta start sometime. why not now? we'll definitely learn a lot about the process. perhaps, since you seem to know so much, brave sir knight, you wouldnt mind being a mentor of sorts (i really mean that)? i think youre underestimating us a little bit man. todays 16 year olds are tomorrows, well... im sure youre hip to the whole aging process thing. by underground, i meant not to say that i knew anything at all about the 'underground'. it just seemed like the best way to describe it, being that it wont be mass media. and no, it wouldn't be a bush-bashing pot digest. as far as the details of the paper... those go in the next post...
yeah, i think you grasp the concept. im thinkin something like maybe a bi weekly issue. we can work together, each person contributing something to the group, and put it all together, save it as a file, and email it to people. of course, this is in addition to printing. i dunno, whaddya think guys? i would want to include info on concerts and protests and what not that might be coming up. have some poetry, art, and of course... articles about world events, legal matters, explanations of things... i dunno. again, whaddya think?
I like your idea, yet a newspaper is something that is very hard to establish, especially if you are not close to each other. My idea would be an online newspaper, buy a domain... get funds together... it will work much better with the right commercialization... and much more people would see it. If you do such thing, I will be more than happy to participate.
hmm... the email thing sounds good...but if we all have access to printers, why not all print and distribute it? the more people read it the better.
sounds good- as we are all in diverse locations it would make sense to e-mail it to each of us, then we can print it out for our area (saving transport costs etc.) alternatively, we can distribute it as shareware, one edition sent around the web by e-mail free, and if people would like to receive further issues they pay a subscription fee and get it sent to their inbox. this has worked well in the past with software, and if we keep the price low, could work well with an online magazine
