I will be moving to Anthony, about an hour west of Wichita in Harper County, a couple days after valentine's day. Going to be staying with a long time friend but have made Arizona my home base for the past 8 years and will miss it immensely. Might come back for college in the fall unless I figure out some other goals. Sometimes 30 feels too old to be so confused in life. Ill be 31 in less than a week and I need to do something. Hopefully moving to Kansas to focus on my health and heal a severely broken heart will help me clear my confused mind. Lots of saunas, steamed vegetables, and hopefully a new found sense of self and spiritual awakening. I would love to meet any like minded people. What i have been told about the population 2500 town that I am moving to is that it wont be easy to do so. I am at least 4 hours from Lawrence and that is the only city that I have ever heard was worth visiting in Kansas. I will have a vehicle if it hopefully makes the drive but wont be driving it much in hopes of some cross country travels later in the year. Herb is a necessity and I love to play poker and go out dancing, am very interested in permaculture and gardening, and love to take my big dog anywhere he can be off a leash. I dont know how i feel about the inevitable smell and taste of hormonal cows, but riding horses sounds quite therapeutic. Well, I would be grateful for any advice on the area and any new friends, online or in person. If I sound a little off, i should lively up quite a bit after I settle in from the stress of big changes. I really wish i was going on tour and not to Kansas but it isnt summer time yet:sunny: and I know with a clear head and no children or pressing responsibilities, opportunities are endless.......
KS isn't so bad. VERY conservative state, but there are good people here. Usually honest at least even if their beliefs are different. Certain areas can feel like you are stepping back in time a few decades, but that can be fun too. Just try to keep an open mind and don't focus on what isn't here. Focus on what IS here. Lots of open land. Free roaming areas for your canine friend. Lots of nature. It's not all flat earth. It's typically quiet and relaxed. You can drive for hours and see nothing but nature. I like it here, and I think if you keep an open mind you will appreciate it too. Might not be your destination, but it doesn't have to be a bad spot in your journey. All that said, how are you holding up here?
Hope all is goin' well for you here in the sunflower state. I live in Wichita, hit me up if you're still around these parts...
