So, I just found out today that my friend Ryan is willing to teach me how to pierce. I've been getting inked and pierced for nearly two and a half years, but I've been interested in it my whole life, it seems. So, I'm finally getting ready to break into the biz that I love so much! Yay! I'm starting with my kid sis's eyebrow on the 1st of april, and eventually, I hope to learn how to tattoo, too. I've got a month to practice at my regular tattoo shop before I move to Tennesee, and I hope to have some decent amount of experience under my belt so that when I get there, I can get an apprenticeship at one of the TN shops and learn everything there is to know about it.
Here's the question: Does anyone have any advice for me as a beginner in the body art world???

before you touch anybody you should have at least 6 months of training. get your first aid, cpr, and blood born pathogens certifications before you start too. you should be very familiar with all the different jewelry materials, whats in them, all piercing tools, processes, sterilization, cross contamination, and so much more before you can even think about touching somebody. usually piercers will teach general for 6 months, have the apprentice set up for 6 months, then hands on for 6 months. you said youve been really into it for over two years, im sure you have a decent grip of knowledge, but there is an overwhelming amount of information one should be prepared with before starting to pierce.
