What do you prefer your metal? Old school Death/Cannibal Corpse style with it's rawness and shit. Or the new kind of stuff like Nile and other metal bands.

I like 'em both but I'll give it to the new stuff just so I can hear it better. But they're both basically the same to me.

    NILE

but you cant compare CC with NILE.

ones educated and the others just for shits and giggles....

by any chance have you purchase a NILE cd? I know you listen to them but have you see the booklets?'

also I think the drummer for CC is a bit lame but repents himself since he helps writting the lyrics....

also Corpse grinder isnt as good as Chris Barnes nor Dallas.....

It obviously ultimately depends on the band and their sound/vision, but I tend to prefer death metal with a rawer production. Check out Father Befouled for an excellent example of a modern band pulling off deliberate, nonshitty, non "retro" production.

I think Black Metal with good production is usually shitty unless the music is exceptional enough to make up for it.

Doom often benefits from meticulous production, although clarity of sound is rarely what they're striving for.
