These cartoons my little cousins are watching are ridiculous. I don't even understand how they think it's entertaining. Do y'all remember when you use to wake up early on saturday to see your cartoon. These things don't even start till noon now.

So I'm assuming you didn't see the new smurf movie?
I never understood that show. There was only one girl in the whole community, where did all the other smurfs come from?

 

smurfette was very busy...you would think they would occasionally show her being knocked up

 

Funny ya mention that, smurfs are rerunning here atm and my kids like them lol

Anyways hubby and I watch a little and was smurfette and wild smurf. Wild was trying to get a little love and the other smurfs were jealous and trying to stop it

Long post is long, but I couldn't resist.

I cannot believe some of the cartoons that television has on today. I mean, some of it is unbareable for me to even watch. Maybe it is because I am a 90's kid. But... Either way, the only way that I can see 90 percent of the cartoons on today... Is crap. And unwatchable for me. I miss the old cartoons. I wish Nickelodeon would bring back Nicktoons and old programs. I miss tons of those shows, also alot of the old Toonami shows that came on Cartoon Network, some of those were great too. I'll list some of the ones below that I used to absolutely love.

Rugrats (Yes, Yes, I know. More for a younger audience, but even as an older adult, being 20 years old now, I love watching those little babies go on an adventure.)

These are the ones for Nickelodeon. I know some of them are from the early 2000's but they are good in my opinion. But the earlier shows and cartoons that are on Nickelodeon now are complete bullshit, to put it simply. I think the best thing about the older cartoons are the fact that they had a good entertainment and rewatch value. And many of them had life lessons along with entertainment.
One of the best examples of it is
Hey Arnold! You got kids living in a lower part of a neighborhood. That find enjoyment with just being around each other, and finding things to do even though they are in a poor situation. And you got Arnold who is the loveable kid who tries to solves everyones problems and helps everyone and gives advice.

It's things like that, that is able to give cartoons some of their great value. Todays Cartoons on Nickelodeon are disgusting to me, most of them anyways. There are only a select handful I can watch without wanting to flip a table. Todays cartoons have no real meaning behind them. Atleast not a good one. These are the ones that I enjoy watching now that are still on Television. Mostly because of the stupidity or entertainment because of how ridicolous it is.

And those are the only ones that I can manage to watch without being bored in only 2 minutes and being angered by how horrible it is. And how crappy the plot of it is. And that sums it up for the Nicktoons. And now onto Toonami/Cartoon Networks cartoons that I enjoyed alot.

All of Dragon Ball Z series - I know alot look down on these episodes, but I myself enjoyed them.

Sailor Moon - Yes I know it is for kids, and many are also looking down on this but I found some entertainment joy in it. Maybe for the life lessons in it and the Sailor Says. And also at the age I was, 9,10,11, those young ages, They were great for me, because heck, I was a kid then.
Powerpuff Girls - Yes, I know another looked down on series by some, but again, when your again, shows like this just bring magic and when you look back on it, it reminds you of your childhood, and brings Nostalgia.

There are tons of others I'm sure I've not seen but are great to watch. If you like some of the ones that I've named above you might like some of the ones that I post below, again this is only a suggestion to check out if you enjoyed the 90's cartoons as much as I did.

Hah. Yeah I did. But when you're an only child and live with no one but your grandmother and uncle, who sleeps in the day... there's nothing else to really do. I had no computer or any of that back then. So After school and on weekends I would just watch television.

In my opinion the best childrens cartoon is Avatar and thats a pretty recent one. The old ones aren't necessarily better. Its just nostalgia.

 

I disagree..... The older ones from the 70s and earlier ARE MUCHO BETTER!!
