The Hip Forums continues to grow, and we recently passed a few interesting milestones. We now have over well over 60,000 registered members, over 3,000,000 postings, and we'll very soon pass 70,000 images in our galleries (probably today). This of course does not include any numbers from the earlier version of this site, which had another 1.4 million posts and nearly 50,000 members. We still host all that data in our archives. These are big numbers, and as the Hip Forums continue to grow, we must pay more to cover the costs of our server and bandwidth use. Perhaps you've noticed that our server is barely able to cover our existing traffic. It hangs everyday when traffic is busy. We will soon have more problems and so we must once again ask you to help out with the costs of keeping this site going. We only ask for $10 a year and give you a lot of extras for that money. If we don't get enough people chipping in, we may have to raise the price to cover our increasing costs. So by supporting us now, we can keep the subscription cost low at $10. So i just donated... how can you tell from whom the donation came? (my paypal email address is not the same as my forum address)
Money is REALLY tight here right now... but in a month or two it should be much better and I'll be happy to give more then ten dollars at that time.
If you go thru the donation routine here, it'll pickup your username along the way (as long as you're logged in). If you have another identity you want credited you'll have to make a note of it on the PayPal payment screen so we know. Usually I can figure out who it is. i don't have a fucking thing. but i thought "what the hell," this place kept me sane a few years ago and i've met many cool people through here. its not like people need food to eat or anything
i always forget when to pay, but of course i get more than 10 dollars worth of entertainment/diversion from this site a year, and I am happy to pay such a small amount
Yeah, this place has come a long way. I never know when dues are up either, but I suppose I'll probably just be hip fo' life and whatnot whenever I get the chance/extra cash. But... a big thanks to the site administration and all brothers and sisters who try to make this place just a little bit better.
