We have a new feature, called Hip Search, which searches all of our sites at once!

    HIP SEARCH

    The sites currently included are:
    Hippy.com (hippyland)
    HipGallery (all those photos!)
    HipMarket.com
    HipTravelGuide.com
    HipPlanet.com (soon)

Unfortunately, at the moment the forums are NOT INCLUDED in this search engine, as they would overload it and the server. (Server says nooooo....) Hopefully they can be included at a later date.

We may also include other websites into the search engine over time.

There's a link in the Hip Menu in the left column, and it's also on the Hip Universe pulldown menu.

    Enjoy!

Sounds like a local Server search engine.
    Good Work Skip and crew!

Actually we've already started spidering other sites. We indexed almost all the pages of some NGOs like Greenpeace & AI & Norml. It also indexed all the links on hipplanet.com.

So anyone who wants to add their site to our search engine need only add it to:
    http://hipplanet.com/links.php

We'll eventually get around to including it in the search engine.

I think it's doing pretty good so far. Most ppl seem to be finding stuff. Misspelling is a common reason why ppl don't find stuff in it.

I'm glad people are using it! I was thinking of promoting it to other sites. It's only a bit of code for a lot of results!

Matt, let me know if you want to add it to your site. I haven't finalized the code yet but you could be a test.

  5. Very cool ! I will have to find a proper category to add my site. It's hard to define it. Love the fact that I can search Hippyland. Peace, Sherry
