Hi guys and girls, i've had my dreads for almost a month now, but i have a question. The person who did my dreads told me not to wash my dreads for two months. I'm allowed to use dry shampoo but not allow my dreads to come in contact with water or soap. I've got hair 'flying' around my head and my scalp is a bit itchy even though i use the peppermint spray and dry shampoo. What do you guys think? should i wash my dreads? Here are a couple of pics of me. What do you think?!
the person who did your dreads doesn't know shit. wash with a residue free shampoo don't take advice from the person who did your dreads and learn to smile nice mac
leave the loose hair. they will either form new dreads or join other dreads. if they really annoy you look into crocheting dreads... although thats a never ending battle. loose hairs will be loose
wash them when you feel they need it. I wash mine when they start to feel greasy/grimey.... that takes about 2 weeks for me (bear in mine I've had mine for nearly 2 years) When I first started I was around once a week. And I'd massage the residue free shampoo into my scalp/roots.. and kinda masturbate it over my dreads. (feel free to comment about this GlenGlen ) Like grab hold of a bunch then with the other hand work it up and down. Try not to run your fingers through your hair though. Be aware that they may loosen quite a bit.. this will happen. After the loosen they will begin to tighten again. So don't freak out and make a thread about it
no wax is the devil.. you will soon learn check out NP's thread http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=364273&f=209 this is the in and outs of dreads. Sorry bro... wax = the wrong way to go about getting dreads
ok um, i would like to advise you to read the "sticky" called "Read this before posting..." before asking any other questions.
