    Hi all,
We are creating an intentional community (commune) 1 hour southwest of St. Louis, Mo. We already have a 30 acre farm that's half woods, half pasture, 2 springs that feed a year round creek, good dirt, nice trees etc....

The focuse of the community will be organic farming, self sufficiency, esoteric thought, music, good vibes, travel, shared visions of the future etc...

The farm and house (partially finished) are paid off!! We ask no rent or monthly fee. The only expense is the electric bill. Our plans include have a productive farm to sell organic produce to nice restaurants, farmers markets and families back in the city. Other handy skills would be carpentry, music, animals etc....we are looking for decent, hard working, fun people that like to work and have a good time. We do allow alcohol etc....but NO hard drugs. If you show your self to be a drunk you will be asked to leave. I enjoy good belgian beer, but rarely have more than a couple. We are very family friendly and love children. I have two, they will be there sometimes, but they live full time with their mother. If you have children you are welcome. If you dont like children and cant be a good example then your not welcome. The land is privately owned but most decisions will be made by consensus. We think there is plenty of space for 5-8 people to start, then we will see how it goes. We would like to build more living structures in the near future. The current house is 3000sq feet and is pretty cool! (yeah I built it :) A lot of the materials have been recycled and sourced green. We strive for near totaly self sufficiency including in the future our food, water, shelter, energy and income. Some of this such as food, water and shelter will happen much sooner than later.

Good vibes and honesty are very important to us! We like open minded, non-judgemental, new agey-esoteric people who want to be part of something greater than the sum of its parts. This is a long term project that has been in the planning stage for 3 years. We are now ready to share this with others.

So far there are 3 of use all late 20's to early 30's. Ideally we want a nice balance between men and women, adults and children. Not because we are trying to couple every one up....far from it, we just think it will help us keep a good balance of masculine/femanine energy. Yin and Yang are both needed. I could make this a lot longer but if you want to know more please contact me Jon Curtis carbonjon@yahoo.com carbonjon at yim or 314-609-4172 Serious only please

Hey C.J. sounds like you found a nice plot of land there, not sure how far along you are with the gardening end of things but theres a great shop down near Springfield that carries alot of Heirloom seeds http://rareseeds.com/seeds/
Some pretty interesting varieties to consider and a darn good forum to learn & share info on Gardening / small scale farming.

    Sounds cool dude.

I’m not looking for a place but it sounds like you got it going on.

Good luck with finding the right people.

Good luck in this adventure. I used to live in a tiny town in MO. Nice country. Cheap land.

    Lots of bugs. :)

Your place sounds cool. We just moved from that area about a year and a half ago (close to Ft. Leonard Wood). Nice area in many ways, some things weren't so great (but what place isn't right?) like extreme weather, bugs, etc. We used to go down to that little place near Springfield for the heritage seeds, too. If you go in person you can get some good deals and pick your own mixes. Anyway, good luck to you!
