Hey all, I'm Mary. Been kinda' lurking for a few days and thought I would join up. Just wondering where all the 60s generation are hiding. I'm a barefoot hippie chick who gets high on life. I don't do the drugs and very little drinking of alcohol anymore and have never smoked. Clean living, organic farming, taking care of my Mother the Earth the best I can. I love backpacking, used to do it all the time and now that my kids are all grown I would like to get back into traveling and the such. For fun I am a tribal belly dancer, an artist and I love my horses. eace:
Hello there Mary & Welcome to the forums. Glad you found us. Some of us are still breathin.... Peaceful thoughts your way.... Farmout
there`s a few of us out here. missouri can be a good place for it. some old hippies have settled here. & it`s cheap land.
Cheap land is what brought us where we are. Only problem is it is in the middle of nowhere which has many plus sides but when it comes to making a living can have a down side. We crop organic hay for the most part and there is small market here for it. There are Mennonite and Amish though and they are quite protective of any market they dabble in despite their "humble" facade . I've backpacked much of the trails here, back country of Yosemite was a biggie many moons ago, some on the coast out there. This was years ago and I am not in backpacking shape now though I would love to start again now that our boys can take care of themselves. Farm keeps me pretty tethered though during the good season and husband is a homebody and not interested. At one time a friend and I planned to backpack the Appalachian trail when were were 50 as our celebration but that fell through. Now I'm looking at hauling my old school friend out to the Black Hills. Won't be much backpacking because she has health problems but it is a celebration of making it this far in life. Thanks for all the welcomes. I'm trying to figure out how to reply on the profile and add y'all as friends and such but haven't gotten that far yet. I suspect there is a posting limit one must reach first?
hi there, wow you are really into alot of cool and interesting stuff. i luv to trail hike. also cool that you are a hippie farm girl. awesome! peace & namaste
Mary, I believe it takes ten days on and at least five posts to be able to private message. We live on a farm too, but do not farm for profit. Just raise our own veggies, no aminals tho. Retired and just pluggin along... Enjoy yourself here.... Farmout...
