Since about three days ago I've started going natural. I hardly brushed my hair before that but that's just due to lazyness. I have five dreads atm, and they've been in since about December and so on. I've had about two sets of dreads already, not been happy with them, >refers to my other post< . So...I have questions. How do I wash my hair? Like, do I just wash my hair how other people normally wash theirs? I've been washing my hair and my current five dreads with a bar of soap called "Simple", but it tended to make my un-dreaded hair sort of greasy afterwards, so I don't got a clue of what to wash it with. How should I know when to separate my hair so it doesn't get into a big ass ball of shit?

I know this soap, I used to use it. I know it's perfume free blah blah, but I found it to be quite conditioning, maybe you should try using something else until your "dreads" can handle it.
how bout this. don't look at your head for 6 months. and separate only when it's uncomfortable. and chill the fuck out!
Ingredients: :2thumbsup: Just wash your hair like you normally would, though avoid running your fingers through. Rather just kinda use like your palms and hands to massage it in. Your hair will start to naturally section into pieces. If you don't like the size of them separate the sections. If some join together and you don't want them to, separate them
Thank you people's so if the soap is still conditioning, what else should I use? I'd be fine with just water but my hair goes greasy if it's just washed with water also
Sit tight, I'll be right over with my neglect kit, we can get that shit sectioned out and neglected in no time.
I have been doing neglect for a bit over 4 months now and this is what I use: 2 cups of water, few handfuls of baking soda, tiny bit of liquid dr bronners, rinse well. if you need conditioning (i do this once a month maybe but it depends on your hair) apple cider vinegar rinse, dilute the acv. I recently started adding the tea tree drops to this, you can also just add a few drops of oils to the wash, just about 4 drops. Also, if you want a quick locking accelerator put sea salt and water in a spray bottle and shake it up really well. Hope that helped.
Oh fyi, do not ever use normal shampoos as they leave residue and prolong or negate the dreading process. if you dont choose to make your own wash like I do (real cheap and effective though) at least find a "NO RESIDUE" shampoo. And obviously conditioner is out. So look into the acv rinse. (Also, recently got an aloe plant as aloe gel can tame frizzies if you need to look formal or something) Can you tell I am passionate about natural dreading?
