So I started smoking on a daily basis, probably like 2-4 bowls a day, when I was laid off from my job. A couple months or so, I started thinking it was way too much (and it was also interfering with my work at home) had I wanted to cut back drastically, and so I started only smoking a bowl every other day. But now I'm suffering withdrawal. I feel nauseated all the time, I don't eat nearly as much as I use to, and in fact I've lost a good five pounds since I've cut back. Sometimes I'm easily irritable, and I also have night sweats and don't sleep as well as I use to.

Can anyone give me any pointers on how to get through this? From what I understand this can last a month, and in the mean time I would like to ease these withdrawal effects. Thanks in advance!

getting stoned just makes situations more tolerable and more comfortable. all that's happening is your starting to become conscious of how boring you are. when you use to be bored you would smoke a bowl, and then that would pass times intill you where not content again and you smoke more.

now that you dont have that your just bored ur just thinking of weird things.

you feeling "sick" or "withdrawl" or "losing weight" is just because when you smoke weed it changes your metabolism, you get "munchies" so your more tended to eat after you smoke. and you smoke at certain times of the day ull probably eat around those times too.

i know when i stop smoking the quality and interest of food stops. i hardly eat and my metabolism is very simple. i need nothing more then 2-3 small meals a day and im fine. but when i smoke i usally eat after. so its just like. when i smoke i eat. when i dont smoke my metabolism is just like. eat a little.

it seems like you went from smoking to much pot, to not smoking enough. why can you smoke just enough?

    smoke at 4:20

it gives u enough time to get all your shit done in a day with out your buzz fuckin with your life

Here's a tip. Don't be a weak willed pussy. You can try to play the victim card, but honestly...3-4 bowls a day aint shit. I stay high all day on a regular basis, but whenever I enter a phase of my life where smoking weed is doing more harm then good... I stop. Becaus I am the master of my own destiny.

You either have control over yourself or your nothing but a walking tool. It's your choice. Who do you want to be?

I'm pretty sure I'm within the ranks of the top notch of all stoners. I'm addicted to altered states, but I can drop any one particular thing at a time.

Find another outlet if pot aint working out right for you. Some of us require a little bit more to make it through.

Every time I quit marijuana after smoking regularly I mainly get the insomnia, lasts a solid 4 to 5 days. I suppose meditation may help. It'll be over though, you'll just have to wait it out. Drinking water/exercise may speed things up.

"its all in your head.. There are no physical withdraws with cannabis."

I'm afraid there is, it has been researched and documented. Some people just react differently to the withdrawal then others. Some people don't even feel it. I never even knew there was withdrawal effects until I started feeling nauseated most of the time and then started researching what the cause could be. At first I thought I just had the flu or something. I was shocked to find out that all the symptoms that I was feeling was associated with this weed withdrawal.

"Here's a tip. Don't be a weak willed pussy. You can try to play the victim card, but honestly...3-4 bowls a day aint shit. I'm a pussy because I stated I was feeling withdrawal effects from a drug? Lol wtf is that? No ones claiming to be a victim here, except for me being a victim of your ignorance. Lets keep it civilized, ok jackass?

3-4 fat bowls everyday, up from nothing, is a lot you smart asses ;). Maybe not for those that have had their tolerance built up over the years from intense smoking. Not that theres nothing wrong with that.

So still no tips for dealing with withdrawal affects?

Don't smoke for whatever length of time it takes for you to stop feeling withdrawals. That's how it works for every drug. There's no marijuana version of a methadone clinic, the only thing anyone is going to be able to tell you is to get over it

So much for a helpful and supportive society if even a hippy forum yields no helpful advice.

I no what you are going through. Ginger works miracles for nausea and increasing appetite but you need a lot. Try pure ginger tea, ginger root or if you can't stand the intensity its available in capsules.

Running is great especially when you are burning off thc

Hot peppers or any food containing lots of them will give you a sort of buzz after a while

And melatonin is great for sleep

Feel free to ask me anything about nutrition/supplements

I work at a health food store

Good luck man and props for trying to make positive changes in your life:)

peaceman is right on in recommending tea. ginger tea for nausea, valerian root tea for insomnia...celestial seasonings has a great tea called the tension tamer that always gives me an effect similiar to pot, physically speaking at least. it relaxes you and gives you a great natural energy all at the same time. You can get it at whole foods, i highly recommend it.

exercise is another great suggestion; that will boost your appetite and help with insomnia.

other than that, there isn't really anything you can do but wait it out. marijuana withdrawals really aren't that bad, its mostly psychological and you'll be over it in a few days.
