1. The Hipforums announces it first ever fundraiser. After nearly 30 years online, we must ask our members and guests to help support the website. Thanks to years of ongoing financial support of our members, advertisers and volunteer admin staff, we have been able to keep the forums alive.

Now we must ask for help as available funds have all been used for our Internet server and other fees.

So please donate any amount to our PayPal account donate@Hipforum.com to keep the site going. If we can get enough for a few months fees, we won't need to nag you again!

You could also subscribe to the forums and get an upgrade to Supporter or Lifetime Supporter here

how about loads of garlic in food? I find that if I use at least 1 bulb of garlic (bulb, not clove) and cook it very slowly in olive oil first to help release the active stuff that seems to help, I definitely start to see an improvement with colds, runny noses and stuff like that. The flavour/smell also is far less strong if you cook it slowly till it's translucent which is good for kids...then mask it with loads of tomatoes, capsicum and any other veg that is going to help his little body kick that cold!Other than that lots of tissues that have aloe vera in them to help stop the sore nose you get when wiping and blowing loads (so not environmental I know but since discovering these I have had to give hankies the flick, scuse the pun!). There are however some colds that you just have to get through and know that they will be stronger for it to fight the next one after it has gone.
    :)
