Alright, so I arrived this afternoon in San Jose Del Cabo and I'm here til the 19th... The Baja is beautiful, but I don't speak Spanish, I haven't got a whole lot of money and I'm dry, dry, DRY. Anyone have any idea of how much I'd expect to pay for decent weed and what my chances are of finding it?

I'm partying with a few older female cousins later this week, but I'm not sure whether or not they toke. So I'm not really counting on being able to pick up around them.

Any help or advice would be great. :D

Mexico has really good conditions for growing weed.

just because most commercial schwag comes from Mexico doesn't mean that all they have there.

Yeah, commercial weed is just grown quick for the money at the fastest and most efficient ratio as far as cost goes.

Though most people in the US and Canada do tend to take better care as it's handled less and transported shorter distances (in most cases, but it's not like that makes that much of a difference). Otherwise, being stacked and tossed is just going to bruise and remove trichomes... which is why I use scissors.

went to puerto vallarta bought weed 4 times 3 times from ome homless guy, my friend goes down there everyyear and he alwyas finds him chilling half a mile on the beach from his condo. so the first time was about 5-6 grams of sativa bud not to good but no seeds, second time same thing, third time i got some jungle weed with hairs growing from evry angle 10 times better than swag. then we went downtowna nd right when we got off the bus me and one of my friends hear a mexican wisper ganja so obviously we knew what up and followed him to his little place his work. told him we needed a ounce said 50 bucks so i was expecting anything good funny part about it wasnt he asked for half the money first for a investment and we were like u think were stupid so he just said come back here in 5-10 minutes came back and he had it wrapped up perfectly in a brochere great sucess. the weed was good swag but fresh so it didnt bother me at all, had so much fun with that sack it isnt even funny. had a chance to buy a cocaine hobbo offerd me it was only one big chunk didnt know shit about coke then so i passed on it, but the guy was very freindly mainly because we gave him a few shirts and some cola.

    conclusion
mexico has many diff qualitys of weed not once did i get brick weed and prices are very cheap even for tourist just know your shit and ask questions.

Thanks guys. :) Another thing is that my proficiency in use of the language is anything but proficient.

I can memorize words and phrases very quickly and I'd really appreciate it if anyone could suggest a few to help me out through the trip... And my quest for Mary Jane.

Try to ask something like "donde puedo encontrar buena marijuana?" . It means "Where can I find good marijuana?" Spanish.

Awesome and right to the point. Thanks ElijahSumali :)

Hell, everyday phrases are good with me too. I found an itty bitty page with recordings to aide me in half-decent pronunciation. http://www.quiz-buddy.com/Spanish_Phrases_with_Audio.html

I like knowing what each word in a phrase means. Picking it apart helps me to memorize it, I suppose. Lol

tienes marijuana? = Do you have marijuana? (tienes means have, and the you comes from its ending, marijuana is selfexplanatory)
puedo compro alguno = Can I get/buy some?
    ¿cuanto? - how much?
Gracias! my amigo - thanks my friend

If you need anything more specific than that lemme know.

It's Mexico... approach any hipster on the street... it's much more socially accepted than in the states and no one will really arrest you for pot (and if they do, you can just bribe your way out of it)...

Yes, just ask "Donde consigo mota?" or say "Oye ese, si oye... tenes mota guey? uhhhum?"

Anyhow, finding pot in Mexico is one of the easiest things in the world. You will be ripped off though, expect it... and you will be sold schwag.

    Ganja is ganja, after all.

Back when I backpacked Latin America I could get an ounce of schwag for 15$ easily anywhere on the road... but yet again, I speak fluent Spanish and don't look like an American.

"mota" is slang for weed in mexico. "sábanas" are rolling papers (means "bed sheets" literally, but it´s used for papers, too)

"busco mota" - i´m looking for weed
    "¿cuánto cuesta?" - how much?
    "demasiado" - too much
"sólo quiero cogollos" - i only want buds

i´ve never been to mexico, only spain, and there´s it´s totally different. different words for everything. hopefully this will help!

Alright. So the good news is that a lot of my extended family are really all a bunch of stoners. The bad news? I'm stuck sick in the condo until tomorrow afternoon because I have a nasty bowel infection. Ugh, so horrible. :'(

Once I get the bloodwork done and pick up my prescription tomorrow though, I'm free to hang out with everyone and get high.

I'm so worried though.. I don't mean to bitch but I really can't contain myself: my lover is an avid backpacker in Ontario, but this time he's run into trouble. He's out of money, almost out of food, he's feeling weak and doesn't have any place to stay. He's hours away from the nearest shelter and he's currently sleeping on a broken couch he found on the side of the road in Hamilton on his way to westbound highway 403. I'm so worried about him and I feel so helpless because there's really nothing I can do other than offer the comfort of my voice. :( He's on the way back to my place (near Chatham, Ont.) and it's something like 150 miles away. Oof. The fucking hospital KICKED HIM OUT...... I'm just so, so, so worried. It's cold out there.
